Are the gearboxes in the 1.3l coil sprung Sierras the same as the 1.3l leaf sprung ones?

Thanks for the speedy reply. Just had a read through that thread, seems most with 4.2's like the conversion, not the same for the 2.8 owner.. No convincing info here, think I'll go no further with it.

RD28T on gas, anyone have any info?

Hi, just wondering if anyone here has a 2.8 litre diesel Patrol with gas fitted. Rough price on supply and install if done, and any info on the pros and cons after having it installed? Thanx in advance.

RD28 Fuel adjustments.

Gday, I have a GQ with the 2.8, 120ks, has custom dump pipe and boost has been set to 14psi. I was wondering what a safe amount of fuel can be added via the screw at the back of the pump, maybe a quarter of a turn? Also what are the advantages of changing the fuel adjuster under the compensator ...

RD28 Inlet relief valve question

Hi guys. Curious as to what PSI it takes to open the relief valve that everyone blocks off in the front of the inlet plenum on the 2.8 turbo??

Recently bought a Garrett T28 from a mate for $100 and put a seal and bearing kit through it. Was for my TD42. Came on making 5 psi at 1200rpm and 16psi by about 2200rpm. Stacks of power, responded really well to pump adjustments then too. Only had a 2 1/2" exhaust too. Nice little water cooled ...

GQ 2.8 Aircon Idle up

Hey i notice on the injector pump of a 2.8 turbo that there is no vacuum solenoid to push the idle up once the aircon compressor is engaged. Is this normal? It drops about 200rpm and I would like to know what the factory setup uses to raise this idle. Pics are more than welcome. Cheers.

Quite the lengthy spiels here Ian. The GU definately felt like it needed more fuel when I was in it. I just had the top mount and Garrett put on mine, and it felt exactly like yours until fuel was changed on the pump screw.

Apparently stroker kits for 4.8 too. 5.2 Litre? I take it the 8psi setting on those turbo kits its without decompressing the engine?

I just put a journal bearing Garrett T28 from a Gtir onto a custom high mount manifold and custom dump pipe. I only have a 2 and a half inch exhaust, but this thing spools up at about 1200~ and keeps making 14psi past redline. I imagine a GT28 would come on a little sooner and mainain pressure ...

TD42 fuel screw adjustment, what temps?

Hi lads, have just installed a turbo kit on the GQ. I am wondering what exhaust gas temperatures you guys are getting once you have changed the adjuster on the pump? Also, how far have you turned the screw inwards to maintain a good balance? I have mine turned in a half of a turn in total. Cheers.

I had a SWB hardtop Vitara. Put 2" lift and a rear minispool in it. Only ever had 28" HT's on it and never struggled anywhere. I imagine transfer mods as mentioned earlier would help if tyres were any larger than this. Oh, and I took the front swaybar off as soon as I bought it. Nice, light little ...

RD28T turbocharger on TD42

Hi, have a turbocharger from a 2.8 and can install onto my 4.2 for cost of oil lines and some piping. Not after power (obviously) just a little more gusto when loaded up. Will this make a difference? Or will there be any negative effects? Cheers.

Used to have a Quadrajet on my 327. Worked well but was hard to find someone who could tune it properly. I liked the idea of vac secondaries. Gave me better economy than the 650 annular I swapped it for. Holleys are waaaaay easier to jet. Is it annular discharge?

Just commonsense I guess, awesome everywhere bar bitumen.... I run 10 psi off and 40 on road. Very noisy, and never 100% round either, not being a radial. I have a set of 31's I use on road so it's not an issue for me. U will NOT regret buying them for offroad use.

Thanks Coxy, I was thinking of the Silverstone Xtreams as an option. I have a 2 " lift on my SWB, so the 33 x 10.5 would fit better under the guards with less rubbing. Would this be the case? I have Silverstone Xtremes in a 35x11.5x15 on my LWB with only 2" lift and couldn't be happier :armsup ...

Tread pattern will be a more defining factor than width. 10.5 Trekkers will go far better than 12.5 cheapies anyday, anywhere..
