try putting a piece of thin rubber like an old inner tube around the bullbar then clamp up tight on that might stop the slipping.

Hilux light upgrade

Was looking to upgrade headlights in the lux. Currently have sealed beams (standard on 94 model) which are yellowy & weak as. ARB sell replacement lenses and bulbs (h4s) supposed to be about a 50% improvement on low beam. Was wondering has anyone done this & was it much better? thanx.

not that hard to replace but i think u need a torque wrench from memory. The clicking noise i had in mine was from the rear uni joint theres two in the rear half of the shaft so may as well change em both while the shafts out. Had pretty much the same symptoms as yours .

Replacing unis wont affect balance of shaft. Just make some alignment marks for when u reinstall it at diff & gearbox ends as well as centre bearing if u split that too.

Personally i think the gauges are ok as my temp went up when thermostat ceased working properly & went back to the original temp when replaced. Maybe your temperature sensor in the engine is buggered. No idea on the coolant thing but never used the Toyota one.

The braided lines will help as was said the rubber lines expand therefore reducing pressure, no expansion more force can be applied to the pistons. The older the rubber lines are the more give they will have in them.

Hey all, Starting to mod the lux. Can someone let me know what else needs to be done when i add some 2 inch oversize shackles, apart from extend brake lines & 3 degree castor wedges. Car so far has only 2inch spring lift & 31 tyres, its a 94 dual cab lux. Thanks.
