Re: Hilux diffs.. Brakes question

Standard brakes will work, but from my experience there was too much pedal travel, as the larger pistons in the brakes required the small brake cylinder to move more fluid.
i took mine to a brake place and they got it a bit better than i did but still too much travel.
I put the GQ two bolt on and it ...

Re: sr20det to vitara 4wd conversion

Dellow bell housings do an sr20 to c4 housing.

another option, c4 and lt95, they came in range rovers at some stage, or put an lt230 behind it.
then the only custom parts are the bell housing, from memory $4-500 and a custom torque converter, $1500 or so

the standard auto and patrol idea sounds ...

Re: Master brake cylinder

I used the gq two bolt on a standard sierra booster! (hilux diffs)
i had sent the standard brake system to the brake joint and they got them working ok (standard master cyl and booster)
but it had a long travel in the pedal which they couldn't fix because the displacement of a standard zook master ...

must agree with gutless.

I think the best conversion is a 1.6l efi vtara/baleno. they basically bolt in and drive away compared to the work of putting the v6 in.

I know you got the motor free, but it would be cheaper to buy a 1.6L, Gbox adapter, gbox, efi fuel pump and a few other bits and pieces ...

looking at using one of these, it wont fit between the rails but may just fit under the bonnet, a bit expensive so I am open to ideas on production radiators, I have not been looking at other options yet, not at that stage!
this radiator is what the datto guys use

im not sure about the manual, but the manual should be a bit smaller than the auto. as in tunnel width

you will need to move the transfer back as has been said.

I think the tunnel will still need a rework for the manual

I am using a c4 auto and it should fit no worries, its sitting in my garage ...

this happened to a friend of mine (no twin sticks) but his zook kept jumping out of low into neutral, from memory it had broken something in there that was meant to stop this, so he just kept an oky strap in the car and put that around it tight back to the dash.
only happened up hills or under load ...

you have rather big deep dish rims!
your truck will be a fair bit wider

wms - wms
(wheel mounting surface)

NT = 49 inches
WT = 52"
hilux = 55.5"
MQ = 58"

if your narrow track its 6.5" overall width increase.

that is a tidy LWB zook!

with your backlash issue, have you check your unis lately. you should have a transfer case hand brake and that will just stop your tail shaft from turning, so any slack in unis is felt!
just a thought
