Re: Vitara Shunting/Missing
Excelent write up. Was there evidence of the short? chaffing of harness? In the vid of the silly scope were you reving the engine or was that just a high surging idle?
Cheers.

Re: electrical question G16B MPFI
seems like you might be overcomplicating things mate, they run with only 4 wires connected from the loom
This is probably the case but simplifying it and just connecting brown with white trace (NW) and brown wires (N) [after all a condenser is just to take out the radio noise isn’t it?] doesn’t ...

electrical question G16B MPFI
Ok I am putting in the G16B MPFI from a 96 Vit into my 89 sierra. 3rd year I’ve been doing this now and just got enthusiasm to try and make the engine work again. I did a lot of things backwards (was a bit naive back then) including not check that the MAF sensor, O2 sensor or resistor condenser came ...

Re: Fuel rail back pressure
Quick question. Does the engine have a MAF sensor with a vane inside it that moves as air flow increases, or a MAP sensor that can be somewhat smaller and just measures pressure? Some might argue that the difference between the two are semantics but I thought the older G16B’s had a mechanical MAF ...

vitara 3 wire airflow meter
Just wiring up my sierra with G16B conversion and wondering why two of the 3 wires from the MAF sensor go to earth (on the wiring diagram, Black and Blue-w-Black trace) albeit one splices of to the computer (Bl/B) before it goes to the same earth point. Why is this? Can I just splice the two at the ...

Second hand info so take it with a grain of salt but was reading on redline gti.com a guy that was turbo'ing his G16B. when he disconected the airflow meter the engin stilll ran seemingly normally, his thoughts ran along the lines of the computer having a fail safe airflow map programed in based on ...

Install myself. a full set of sockets up to about 17mm, breaker bar and ring spanners should get you through the factory stuff. Im thinking just ...

Well your in luck, bought the alternator yesterday, trial fitted it today to my G16B (removed at the moment),sprey painted the brackets and will bolt it up all nice tomorrow. Did it a couple of months ago with just cruizin's kit. I cant actually see how you can do the 2in lift without disconnecting it or at least loosening it as in its origional position the biscuit was bending/warping quite a bit (ie a lot of tension on the biscuit). Just take the bolts completely out ...
