Re: underguard paint??

I used K&H stone guard on the whole underside of my hilux. It's still going strong after two years. I had issue's which other paints getting pealed off buy mud, but the K&H stuff seams to work really well. Just scrub up the area to be painted with a wire brush and wipe with turps.

It's black and ...

I would go to Premier Fuel Injection in Berrimah

http://www.pfis.com.au/

They do good work and they have a fully aircon'd workshop with dyno.

Don't bother with toyota.

Front and rears on hilux diesels are easy to damage if the engine see's a lot of mud.

Afroshane

Not sure on the Haines Manual Vs the Gregory's

When you have the seal out check the area were it was sealling against to see if there is any damage to the crankshaft surface.

I agree ...

Get a Gregory's manual and follow it to the letter and you shouldn't have any problems.

Make sure you use a Torque Wrench. Don't just guess. Also use locktight on the flywheel and clutch bolts.

The first time I did it it took me a whole day. Now I can do it in just over three hours on my own. The ...

IFS front set up

The Gen 3 caddy kit doesn't retain 4wd. You would be looking at the Gen 2 kit which runs 10" coilovers to give you 12" of travel. You can get a bit more if you change your bump stops aroung a bit.

The caddy kit is designed for pre-runner type events where speed is essential. The ...

You can use one of these to get twin outputs to the rear.
http://www.ottindustries.com/divorced_toyota_tcase.html
You run the Hilux T-case fliped to give two outputs from the rear. If you fit a twin stick to the Hilux T-case then you have the option of 2wd (middle diff or Hilux case in neutral front ...

The angle of your drag link is pretty messed up. Is that at ride hieght?
Can you get a different Pitman arm with less of a drop?
I thought that your Drag link and Panhard had to be in the same plan. That would put your panhard in a pretty weird spot as well. Lucky your thinking of going down the 4 ...

I did mine myself and it took me little over 5 hours from start to finish. (never done one the lux before)

Hardest part was getting the crank pulley off. If you keep spraying WD-40 on the bolt for a few days before hand then it helps to get it off. I took the starter motor out and used a large ...

I have a Gregory's manual for the Hilux 5L/5L-E and there's a picture of the injector pump for the 5L on page 93.

It shows the tachometer sensor on the engine block side of the injector pump.

If with both engines you have no tacho then maybe the problem is in the dash. Check and see that all the ...

I helped with this conversion on a mates Hilux using a V6 out of a VN commodore.

Luke

Your best bet for a good working suspension lift and to fit larger tyres is to do a
- 2" body lift,
- 1" upper ball joint spacers (as previously stated these will give you a 1" lift while still retaining the down droop of your ifs) with 1" diff and sway bar lowering mounts (All available from ...
