ayas, i just recently bought a 1992, 75 series cruiser ute. It has dual tanks with the push button on top of the dash with the gauge. I have tried to turn it on and the light goes on to indicate that it's on, but it doesn't seem to be using fuel from the sub tank as the main tank gauge still keeps ...

Have you checked the king pins/bearings? This is a common thing in the zukes.
