2.8 driveshafts?

just been looking at the tec bible...

am i rite in that all the 2.8's have the large 8" diff and there for have 28 splined driveshafts?

put a 8" diff in my triton awhile back and im after a spare D/S, but 3.0/3.5 manuals theres not many about in the u.k but loads and loads of 2.8 manual and auto's ...

brake lines, top rad hose, bumper brakets, gear leavers, fuel filler pipe,
fan shroud cutting, steering is fine, will get back to u if i can think of anything else, all worth doing and its not that much work :twisted:

sorry not online much at mo. not sure what you mean by gen 2? does it have the more square head light?

mines a tjm bar cant see why it wouldnt fit, but they do all the bars for different year tritons

The torsion bar angle would only be like that if the is some special suspension components in the front, IE whole front end dropped down.

yes it has secial suspension components in the front, also replalaced thicker torsion bars

The more I look at those images, the more I think that the L200 is ...

its a 6 " body lift and 4" suspenson lift :shock: look at the angle of the torsion bars

hello all,

theres abig lift kit being made in aus for L200's somewhere but cant find any details on the web. can anyone shed any light on who mite be making it? ive been told its an australian suspension company...

i agree withe the above, standard torsion bars are fine, unless ur going to be fitting a winch or winch bumper on the front,

also standard front shocks are fine as you dont need the extra travel

cheers for the help guys, got rid of the viscous fan for an electric one,

had a good test run and all seems fine... so must of been the viscous fan

the kenlowe fan is very good and cools it quickly also has a boost mode if needed! and an isolator switch to cut it off when wading :lol:

im going to also fit a new thermostat just for good measure,

as said above i may have reached the limits of the cooling system with the set up i have,

do you think it would be worth my while changing the mitz thermo that opens at 95oc to one that opens at 76oc??

would this help the cooling or is ...

im going to remove viscous fan all together and fit a KENLOWE electric fan which im told are very good, which should hopefully improve the cooling system and fix my prob,

been meaning to look at getting one for awhile now anyway

see how it goes from there and will keep ...

ive had the 3" body lift for over a year now with no probs,

i can stop the viscous fan from spinning very easy is this right??

i will take the rad out first then and see if i can swap it with a spare rad my mate has,

changing the thermostat, is there a how to or link on the site showing how to do ...

im pretty good with cleaning my rad, always tend to do it every other off road session, so keep on top of it

and ive just been using hose pipe with my finger over the end,
rad looks in ok conditon

it just seems if im not going anywhere fast/moving with high revs it over heats :roll:

can anyone help :cry:

my truck seems to over heat from time to time BUT only when off road and not all the time off road,

its fine when on the road cant get it to over heat at all even when stuck in trafic

its fine when crusing around off road apart from when im really giving ot some to get ot ...

But I have to ask, why would you want to do it when you already have a combined 5" lift and running 35's?

true, but the reason is the angle of the driveshafts and wisebones,

a mate of mine who give his truck alot of stick is busting cv's all the time,

looking in to lowering the diff to help cv ...
