They guzzle fuel and have a habit of guzzling oil too! Quite common to do big end bearings, I would avoid them unless it was given to me, even then I'd sell it ASAP

Is the hole in the end of the shaft threaded? If there is a hole that's thread get a bolt that fits and put it in and give it a tug while putting the cir clip on. If not u got other problems.

I've seen a couple of twisted splines from hitting things, if this is the case you won't be able to just straighten the steering wheel cause the lock to lock won't be equal. As for the shake, check wheel balance, bearings and even the swivel hub bearings.

If you don't want flexy coils get the usual linear Dobinsons coils. Dobinsons do have a better manufacturing proces for coils.
