A similar thing happened to mine.
I fixed it by lifting the H-L linkage on the box up and shifting. you will find there is alot of end float in the shaft that goes into the box. something must wear and the lever and fork disengage. try it before you strip box.
let us know how you go, cheers.

When i had the 350 in my cruiser with the standard radiator it got hot on the beach, the viscous fan was stuffed so i locked it so it would spin at engine speed with fencing wire, after that it stayed cool as. Point being that the std radiator has enough volume and surface area, you just need to get ...

Hi Hulsty, i could be wrong but i didn't think the 40 series came factory with a H55F? Someone had swapped the 5-speed into the 55 series that it came out of from at later model. I assumed it would go straight into my 60. doh! Gibonator, i bent a big "S" into the gearstick so i could get 1st, 3rd ...

Thanks Gibonator, i am half way though replacing the 4 speed with a 5 speed in my HJ60. Not sure of the history of the box, it came out of a wrecked 55 series. The problem is that my shifter is way up in the dash, it fouls on the heater duct and i would have to modify the transmission tunnel cover ...

They do have a stiff side wall, but i ...

Good point about taking the tonge out, i will definitely do that. I hope the guy that blue slips it is ok with it, technically its not legal is it? I dont think taking the whole bar off is a solution, would'nt they knock it back for not having a rear bar? The rest off the car is mickey mouse, and ...

Blue slips and home made rear bar with tow hitch
Hi Guys, Has any one had any experience with getting a fourby blue slipped with a home made rear bar that has a hayman reece style tow hitch incorperated? Is it one of the checks that they do to see that the tow bar has a "compliance plate" type thing on it? Will they knock me back? I am in a bit if ...
