engine advice needed
Hi, just wanting to know how hard it is to fit a injected 3.5/3.9 to a classic rangie it currently has a 4.4 in it which has seen better days so is it worth the hassle of going injected or just throw the std 3.5 carbie into it. Thanks

Re: 10 spline diffs. Is it worth converting to 24 spline
so if i could locate a disco series 1 with 24 splines front and rear and could get the complete centres and axles i could swap striaght over and be better off straight away and then buy a locker and axles to suit that diff?

Re: New front radius arms
yeah i understand that castor is measured in degrees. Im a suspension tech by trade and im just trying to come to terms with how the castor changes without lengthening the arms, as castor is measured from the top to bottom of the pivot points ie top of spring to bottom

Re: New front radius arms
just a quickie, how does cranking arms correct castor, if you only bend them to correct how the diff sits? castor is technically wheelbase so without lengthening the castor wont change.

Re: 10 spline diffs. Is it worth converting to 24 spline
so new diff centres axles lockers etc? are they that much stronger than 10 spline? it just seems a huge cost compared to 10 spline

ok so basically stick with the diffs i have but get them fixed up, obviously there are many options but which lockers are best to go with with regards to strength vs price?

i do heaps of tyre grooving on kevlar rally tyres and have only ever used the hot groover which is easy, but only ever go as low as the wear bars as any lower could cut cords in the carcass of the tyre

Re: springs
yeah it seems a little unstable at speed but it was never built for going fast but its pretty much stock setup i.e arms etc but im waiting to get the rollcage in and get the weight in it before i start switching coils
Re: springs
i have 2" body and 4" coils and 35's in my rangie and its gonna be expensive very shortly unless you have access to tools to make the arms to suit, 4" is a little over the top but its what i wanted and it works well but saying that im thinking of coming down a inch or two.
