I did the panhard rod the same as this. The Nissan one is hollow and the rover one is solid and is a (very) tight fit in side the nissan tube. Just cut them a bit longer than needed, knock the one inside the other, fit to truck and make sure it is the right length and then weld it up. Easy!

Most common cause of the death wobbles is poorly adjusted swivel preload. You need to get in there with a spring balance and start removing shims by the sound of it. Saying that I have just been through the same process with my disco and finally ended up swapping axles. I had changed panhard rod ...

Here is mine. Standard (tuned) 200 TDi, Nissan GQ axles, 2" spring lift.
She has won her class first time out and had second overall in the last event done.
Cost? Not a lot as I did all the work myself. Axles were £300 (less than one ARB locker). OK I have no front locker but then less chance of ...

GU axles are simply NOT found in breakers yards over here (been searching for months). My mate has the axles (from heaven knows where!) to fit under a Toyota challenge truck but unfortunately the calipers were already removed. So a pair is needed in any case. No idea of Nissan prices but talking in ...

GU front calipers needed. Alternatives to new from Nissan?
Quick question for a friend. He needs new front calipers for a GU, 2001 model. It is for an off-road vehicle so he doesn't want to pay main dealer prices. So do calipers from earlier models (GQ) or other models (Terrano, pickups etc) fit? Small mods to make fit not a problem.
Cheers

Auto free wheeling hubs, how to put together
Just a quicky. I have reassembled my auto free wheeling hubs after having them on the bench in bits for 6 months. I think I may have got something wrong though as they click quite a bit. Does anyone have an exploded diagram of them they can post up please. There is one washer in there I am unsure of ...

Took it onto tarmac yesterday and sad to report it does vibrate. Not excessive but you wouldn't want to drive that far like it (but with 37" mud tyres you wouldn't want to anyway!!). A tip for anyone doing this. Because the front axle of the GQ is wider that the rover one the drag link comes out too ...

Finally fitted the GQ axles under the Discovery and have been for first test drive (although I have no brakes yet!!!). Can report no vibration problems as of yet though I only managed 25 mph on a gravel track! Hopefully my brake hoses will arrive tomorrow and I can get and have a proper test of all ...

From your description it sounds more like the small torsional spring has gone just as it seems to do on all Disco rear doors. New springs can be bought from Ebay but cost quite a bit for what they are (but will fix it). I have heard that you can use the spring that works the child-safety locks as a ...

Great post. i am fitting GQ axles under a landie and have the rear locker. I have rescues the solenoid from this and it certainly looks like it will do the ...

I see the bolts you refer to but first I need to remove the hub-brake disc/rotor assembly. Its that bit I am having problems with. There appears to be a big flat nut in the sentre with 2 raised tabs on it but can't see how to remove it short of tapping it round with a hammer but don't want to do ...

Silly question... rear halfshaft removal. How?
Just in process of rebuilding a set of GQ axles (to solve the inherent weakness of my Discovery I hope). Done the front no problem but now started on the rear and am faced with an unfamiliar set-up. So before i go and hammer the sh*t out of it what is the correct procedure for removing hubs/shafts ...
