1.8l or 2.0 iO ?
I am thinking a turbo 4g93 or 4g63 transplant would give a nice boost in power. (lancer gsr engine or evo engine) could bolt right in although have to do some crap with east-west 'vs' north-south config i am guessing. (iO's engines are mounted north-south are they not ?)

HUNTERLUX, The model you were talking about overseas is what we know here as a Landcruiser Prado, or just Prado. We did get the 120 series about 18 months ago i guess.
130 series landcruiser is some time off yet. (Anywhere, not just here)

I have seen cross drilled rotors with cracks.
Common'ish on R32 GT-R's that have been driven hard with cross drilled rotors. But hey they are a race car more or less and often driven that way, have my doubts it would be as much issue on a 4wd.

Opinions on NP paj ??

Guys,

A quick question for a friend, he wanted opinions on the NP model pajero, would be purchaseing a new, 3.2 DiD 5 spd auto. Prado being the other choice (new 1KD-FTV 3.0l direct injection model)

Just after some general feedback, he is not into hardcore 4wding but does tow a decent weight ...

i think you will find even turbo silvas / 180 sx etc had r180, and skylines the r200. something like that so i would think they should standup ok even with the extra weight, and potential for all sorts of nice goodies like 1.5way and 2way LSD's etc.

within about 10 degrees or horazontal is what you need, as stated mounting that low if you have an accident it can break the seat and you.

More or less without exception harnesses are illegal unless you also have your standard retractable seatbelt over the top. (There are some exceptions, like ...

Yeah but a 100 series drives nicer than a patrol even though the patrol is tougher.

I guess toyota are doing them as warrenty claims. But what if you say have 33's and a couple of inches of lift, will they still do the repair as a warrenty. Not to mention because they are full time 4wd i imagine ...

Are you guys doing this just in case or because you require for competetion ?
I know for cars CAMS require 2kg of dry chem, so 2 x 1kg units and must be mounted in arms reach of driver. Usually in front of seat seems to be best.

If you believe the roumors there should be a 100 series update in early 2007 proberbly jan.
maybe a large petrol, possibly also a v6 1gr-fe in current prado, and even talk of a v8 turbo or twin turbo oil burner.

If you want one just buy one. v8 goes through the fuel though.

Generally the rules are as follows. (And i do say very generally)

1.) The engine must be same age or newer than the car and must be installed with all required emissions add-ons.

2.) Any engine can be used but must be straight gas, ie no duel fuel. just gas.

There is a 3rd option but ...

You could do a full service, drive for nnnn kms, then get oil analysis which will tell you what metals are wearing and putting crap in the oil, that way you can see if something is too high in concentration which may tell you if something is wearing or worn more than it should be.

If you have the compressor maps you should be able to match that up with the air the engine is using (capacity and rpm calculations)

But if you post on here the engine an proposed turbo people should have an opinion of how it will go.

To complement the high-performance TB48DE engine, braking ability and feel has been improved on petrol-engine Patrols variants. Brake rotor size has been increased to 316mm x 34mm at the front and 330mm x 18mm on the rear to maximise the cooling performance of the brakes.

In addition, the brake ...
