One thing I forgot to mention was...we tow heavy loads...something the 4.5 just couldnt do...well...well and truely did it the worst...worse than a EF falcon!

yeah yeah it can sit on a 100 km/h...but anything other than a flat road and they struggle big time.

Had many 80 series, GU 4.5 and a 100 series between the old man and i...and we BOTH agree that the GU 4.5 is a bag of sh1t...we couldnt have sold it quick enough. 80 series 4.5 is a much much better car!

GU TD6 Dump Pipe

Hi All, is it possible to just change the dump pipe on a GU TD6 and leave the remainder of the standard system on?? is it worth doing it, or just wait till i do the whole system? just that the standard dump pipe looks very restrictive. I was going to do the whole system at once, but i'm doing the ...

that lack of low down power u refer to from the LS1 (I own a VX SS) disappears once u fit a proper set of headers and exhaust - try y's if your after better low down, or 4 into 1s if your after better top end and its got heaps down low. LS1 edit and your pushing roughly 225 at the wheels / 300kw at ...

how do u figure that...

$935 + $25 = $960 vrs a MAX of $700 (incl dump pipe) = a saving to me of at least $260...i know which pocket i'd rather have it in :P

the $260 saving would pretty much pay for the tune / dyno ;)

I too am in a similar boat...I currently have pedders gear in the rear and cant fault it...nice firm but comfortable ride, and it can take a load. The front does need changing and based on the prices I've been given I'm actually better off changing the whole lot as it seems more cost effective ...
