Turns out the solenoid was seized. Just about rooted. Turning over now apparently, but still failed rego (bloody cracked exhaust, sif Wrangler's pollute. They shit white!). Thanks for the help guys.

Got the Jeep back to the state it was in prior to the 'deep wash'. Which means it only splutters now when it hits 2600-3000 rpm in 2nd or 3rd. But it's running again w00t! Mostly just gave a lot of the connectors another clean. Brakes are stiff, steerings crappier than ever, but he's still going!
