The correct way if they don't just slide off is to drill 2 holes 5.5mm in dia and tap them to 6mm threads then using a harmonic balancer remover pulley and long 6mm bolts they come off nice and easy. It is recommended that once drilled and tapped that the gear be replaced although i have reused them ...

common on this model is they shear the locking tab off the hubs this sounds like what has happened remove the outter chrome cover, the circlip and the 6 hex head bolts and remove the hub. ps you dont need to jack it up. look for the locking tab on rear of hub if missing or bent thats your problem ...

there is supposed to be a neddle roller bearing in there. they are usually buggered and only about $30 from mitsubishi

this requires the adjusting of the torsion bars depending on weather you need to raise it or lower it depends on which direction you wind the bolt's which are located under the chassis about in line with the front seats. hope this is what you required

It's called a "helper/assist spring" and i think it just softens the blow that the bump stop takes. its only there to guide the spring back into position after full articulation. with out it the springs tend to fall out. happened plenty of times on my ng pajero(they dont have them) cheers murray
