Engine size being equal, give me a strokey straight six over a shorter-stroke V8 any day, for a 4WD at least. If I had the choice between a 5.15L stroker kit for a TB48 and a 5.0 commodore donk, I think the choice would be pretty darn easy. But even without any extra stroke I'd rather have the TB48....

i run a optima yellow top battery so as to run an engel and a burnbrite light out the back, got my local sparky to do all the wiring, solenoid,leads,plugs,battery monitor and hard wired the engel lead, seen to many leads come out while traveling along and bugger up the tucker not to mention the beer...

couldnt agree with you more, like all diesels, regular oil changes and good clean filters are a must. Why do the pistons fail so much in the 3 litre engines, surely they must be leaning out or piss poor fuel.

i agree with bz no 3 piston is a ticking bomb in the 3 litres but i only know of them melting down because friends put after market chips in them and dont get them dyno tuned so no 3 gets to hot no fuel and boom bye bye but standard wise im not that sure, any way my 2.5 is damm good. hey joe i think you may be onto something i hoped underneath lookn from the box to the front and its sitting high on the drivers side i mean a good inch plus some and it feels a little week like grab the housing and you can wobble it a bit, is that normal cheers steve

skeg, you should always join the draw bar under the body not level or past the front so you can weld both parts securely to the under side and dont weld across the top of the draw bar to the body it will flex and it will break, it needs to flex. i build trailers, www.trailermade.com.au cheers steve
