you wrote difflock as one of your future plans. May I know
how your going to do it? Are you planning to install ARB?
or are there any other options? Many thanks.
245 70 R16 is 29.5 and thats all that can be fitted with 4" of total Lift? My oh my, now I understand why there are so few GV's on the trail. Luckily I have no plans to make this an offroad rig. Are there MT or AT tires that are 27" or 28" in diameter? Never seen one. Many thanks again. :)
Bought my first suzuki a 2001 GV AT 2.5L V6. What are my lift options If I want to place 30" or 31" tires. I have searched the net and Seems there are only a few. Even Calmini does'nt offer them anymore. Anybody here who has lifted there GV'?
After encountering problems during the Sta Ana race due to water ingestion, we decided to make more water resistant the distributor, ignition coil and the spark plugs. We also decided to relocated the air intake hose.
When I was about to buy my crawler gears from
Marks4wd i remember that both the 2.6L and the 3.0V6
use the same crawler gears with a ratio of 2.8:1 . The
3.5L Gas and the 2.8L TDI has a higher ratio of 3.5 IIRC.
I hope the info helps.
One lesson, I really learned from this built is
the importance of choosing your builder.
A builder who is not competent enough will
cause a lot of delays and money to.
Roza31, Iknow this is OT but I can't stop myself
from asking, your avatar, is that a Roza with a
converted BMW front? It looks cool! Do you have a
build thread?
if you peek under your transfer case, there are 2
switches with an electrical connector. IIRC one has to be
connected to the body, the other one is connected to
the other switch. tell me If you need a picture, I can
take one by monday. My paj is park at the office, so
I will be seeing it on Monday.
I have ordered one from Vittorio too and he quoted me a
shipping price of US$120 via UPS to the Philippines.
I was given instructions to wait for further notice.
Probably waiting for the orders to reach 10 units.
After a succesful run of the Pajero, We have to check and work on small but essential items that need to be addressed. 1. We found out that the handbrake switch is no longer present so we have to buy a new one.
2. Our 4wd indicator is no longer working. We have checked the wiring and it was okay ...
I was able to source out and replaced the water pump. Still need to look for a suitable vacuum assist brake booster. There are so many for the pajero, but Its not exactly the same so Im still looking.
is there an asian or USA distributor? it normally
is cheaper in the US or asia. Very interesting
and 1000$ for it might not be cheap but
acceptable, considering that if what the brochure
says is true, you won't hear the chirping sound.
I removed the water pump and the vacuum brake booster. They are both not working properly. I will be sourcing out new parts. Hopefully this will be the last of the small nitty gritty items I have to replace before my Pajero is mechanically sound and reliable.
We trailed the Pajero for the first time last week and I was happy with its performance. It has a very high torque and pulled out a Patrol, a ford everest and a feroza effortlessly.
When you do a SAS, you make sure that your coil springs are secured to the axle on one side and to the chassis on the other side to make sure that your down travel will be limited and ensure that your slip yoke won't come out from your differential . But if the rig will be abused in serious trailing ...
After 4 months, I finally have time working on the Pajero and installed the Low TC gears from Marks4WD. Initially we had problems installing it , mainly because the installation guide has no pictures, but eventually with a few emails from the manufacturer , we were able to install it properly.
There were 2 major things that has to be undone. 1. First I remove a post that was already installed 2. The gear was installed from the other side which make it possible because the post above was uninstalled.
Thank you very much for the leads. I have finally installed my TC gears
with the help of Marks4WD. I am now changing all the TC and transmission
oils with GL4 gears oils. I will try my rig this coming thursday and see
how it goes. Again many thanks to Ian.
mate, i dont recall the cases having to be modified to that extent!. Are you sure you havent got gears meant for the larger transfer cases, ie the 3.5l & 2.8 TDI. They were a larger gearset.
Hello Ian, thank you very much for the reply. Yes Im very sure that I bought the right one. Its for the 2 ...
Actually that was the first thing that came to my mind. Maybe the front end was replaced by a hilux. Although I have checked a lot of hilux models and there is a subtle difference between my 4runner and the that of any hilux picture I have seen. Also all the curves fit perfectly. even the ...
