my last 2 batteries have run for about 3 years and both went from good cranking batteries to nothing, sounds about average from my experience. Try to buy from place with high stock turnover, they deteriate with ageing on shelf. Fresh from factory is the go. Short runs with not fully recharging also ...

A stainless muffler tends to last a bit longer and resonate more. Stainless is more brittle, so cracking in the pipework may be an issue. I've only had stainless mufflers in the past, the exhaust makers recomended agianst useing stainless for pipework.

Yes the z334 or equivelant in your favourite brand. Yes that oil is fine if you like it and is diesel spec, most use a 15/40 in your favourite brand diesel oil spec. Diesel runs higher detergent, and more regular changes. The diesel fuel filter needs more attention than petrol, change it regularly ...

The gregories / hains job from most parts sellers like repco or superauto watever is ample for the average home work. Genuine toyo is basically same but more expensive. Have you looked at the bible links above ? if ok with on screen or home print is also adequate.

The standard also has wiring to accomodate the water alert light. Standard as you say is about 20c size at the bottom and is equivelant to z 252 or z 252 x (not as tall). For a straight swap take yours back to to change over at repco (depends on skills of counter jockey in finding yours) or try a ...
