yeah upgrade wiring is a good idea, but upgrading to a halogen insert type light assembly is worth it just as much.
especially if you are still running old style sealed beams.

I think what Tweek is saying is. High Engine Temp is not going to directly affect EGT's, they will increase but not as dramatically as the engine temp has. only a small percentage. high engine temp may seize pistons etc but it won't cause big increases in EGT's Whereas a high EGT's will cause a ...

1HZ's have an issue with steep hills. Couple of friends on multiple occasions have had the same thing happen. one on a brand new $8k Toyota long motor. all have had to do with overfilled oil. not sure why. Think it may have something to do with there are only a couple of spots where the oil can ...

cooler air on any forced induction motor is always going to help.
might only make 2hp extra but its still a gain.

a friend recently cleaned out his intercooler off a TD42Ti. inside and out. dropped about 70-80degrees in egt.

It could be several things. Simple thing to do would be put the vehicle in 4wd and have a hubs locked. Jack the front end up and try spinning one wheel while holding the other. If there is a metallic grinding/crunching noise coming from just behind the wheel. Its more likely a CV has blown. Its ...

I didnt believe it at first, but talked to a few of the tech guys confirmed that its correct. they do run a variable geometry turbo so it definately is possible not to mention a front mount intercooler. i'll have to print off a graph from the scan tool. when i get back to work.

OK. well the setup the vehicle has at the minute. is a full 3in bandrel bent exhaust from turbo to just past the tansfer (where the exhaust ends). it runs around the 13psi mark which gets to about 14 at around 4200. it also has a topmount intercooler off a soarer or supra.

My Boss has been fiddling with his 3L hilux. He has a full 3inch exhaust from dump to exit (ends at the transfer) and his runs 13psi and it loves it. tows his camper trailer with ease. the other day his egts went up to about 610 which is a little high. but it usually sits around the 560 mark. Dont ...
