Was definatly the crank pulled a plug and checked, nothing moving and metalic oil. Cactus fawktus. Left here same way it arrived on the tilt tray :lol: Guess he shouldn't give it such a flogging :roll:

Ok, so a mate dropped off his hilux this morrning.Arrived on a tilt tray :roll: . Says it was making all sorts of funny noises," i think it's done a clutch". As far as i know In Aus yes, the same light was fitted to 40's. my 68 shorty had the small hole for the taillight as well. Ok. So i have been out in the shed playing around with this. And the filter light in the dash has been staying on when the truck is running. I pulled the filter off and cleaned it out, tested the switch and re-bled the fuel system and the light still stays on. The alt i have on the truck at the ...

Hi all. I'm just finishing up a rebuild on a 1980 hj47 cruiser that has the running gear out of a hj75 in it. The original alt was externally regulated and the new one is internally regulated. There's actually three different front panels. Very early ones up to about 1971 i think, had the park lights in the lower section. Then the park lights were move to the guards. Both these panels had the round ended head light surround and the grill was interchangeable. Then in about 78/79 they ...

Why not running gear from a big capacity 4x4 quad bike. You would have light weight, high and low range and 4wd. Just a thought. Bit bigger than what your after, but mates buggy has a 2.6ltr and 5 speed out of a magna rear mounted. cops an absolute flogging on the beach in dunes and on the occasional bush track, and he hasn't killed it yet

I've never actually worked it out properly. But my carby 308 45 with 5speed and standard diff ratio's on 35s works out about the same as the old slow slog 2f. according to the fuel bill
