Sounds like I'll need a nut splitter and a new nut. Thanks for the replies. I will go with the genuine seal.

Can the seal be accessed from the rear after removing the yoke or does the bearing retainer need to be removed? Is the Toyota seal good or is there a better “terrain tamer multi lip extra s ...

I actually prefer Ensis fluid because it is tacky. It mists well when using the correct tools, wicks everywhere and won't lift off like hardening types of protection. It softens on a hot day and reseals any openings from scratches etc. Doesn't look great though. I have a very dirty looking engine ...

I recently bought a set of 4 ROH trak 2 16x7 rims for my HZJ75. They were about $100 each. ( I was originally quoted $140 each). I have BFG LT235/85R16's on them. I'm very fussy about tolerances too and these ROH's are very good for runout. During my research before buying rims, I was told to stay ...

hydrolic winches can overheat and boil the power steering fluid
Not if you have a 'proper' PTO hydraulic winch. Much higher oil volume and they will run all day. No, I don't have one.

Mine is a 1991 HZJ75. Totally stock with only 180,000 ks on the ODO. It gets about 12l / 100ks with a mixture of around town and freeway driving. Speedo is dead on by GPS. Diffs are 411s. Looking to put a turbo on to fill in the 2nd to 3rd gap. Just as a side issue, I had a play around the forestry ...
