IMHO if they are rolling off 8" or 9" rims without beadlocks, they will roll off 10" rims without beadlocks more often.
hows that work, the wider rim should make them seat better at low pressures......shouldnt they
why would the tyre manufacturer advise to use a 10 inch rim for a 37 when ...

to stop a 37 inch tyre rolling off the rim, most manufacturers recommend at least a 10 inch rim.
any ideas beside beadlocks

I am running 35x12.5x15 on 15 x 8 sunnies with a -25mm offset, and theres no problems.
your 10.5's will be fine even at low pressures.
drive sensibly and you wont have any issues mate

I think we all need to be really worried where this is heading. this current generation of large 4wd's are nothing more than SUV's on steriods
what will we be modifying in 20 years time when the trusty 'old' 100 series and GU's will be past their 'used by date'

I had 35 inch claws on my GQ with a 4 inch coil lift. They were on a cruiser offset rim and only just rubbed on the inner drivers side guard on full flex....pretty happy with that
they are a great tyre in the mud too

I assume you will be towing a trailer for the firewood, you will only fit kindling in the back of a D1

Yeah, they will probably rub on full lock with what ever rim you use. that can be fixed with adjusting the stoppers on the front, I think they were on the swivel hubs. I had to adjust mine, just enlarges the turning circle a tad but nothing to worry about.
I have seen a D1 with just a 2 inch lift ...

no I dnt think so. if you go a 2 inch coil lift and use the LRA flare, it should be fine. The LRA flare raises the guard height by 2 inches I beleive so it looks like you will have a 4 inch lift if that makes sense

if you want tyres bigger than 33 inch, then you will probably need different diff ratios and wheel arch flares and you are right, they are as dear as poison.
Like Lucy said, take it out and see where its limitations are for where you want to go and then devise a plan.
Maybe some 31 inch muddies ...
