series 7 patrols can be a lottery for reliability and economy from forum discusions, some love the 76 with improvements but i wouldnt spend that sort of money on one. try to find a dealer willing to give you either for a few days. i drove a series 7 and found it gutless but you see a lot of them ...

Re: Whats the best 07-11 Daily Driven/Touring/Mild Dual cab

D40... I've worked on quite a few, and the servicing costs are ridiculous.. Plus lower ball joints wear out between 60-120k and have to buy complete lower control arms priced @ about $500ea.. But thats just my opinion Mitch sounds like you can service yourself so you can save heaps doing that,as ...

i wouldnt wind the chip all the way ,3/4 is best power/economy with most of them. instead of replacing the whole system try taking out the muffler and fit a straight through pipe to what you have and see how it goes before spending the money.

Re: Best work horse/tow ute

as the owner of a d40 my advise is - dont kid yourself thinking a 2.5 - 3 litre 4 cylinder is any good towing that sort of weight . i have towed 2 horsesover 20,000km in 12 months great on the flat but once in the bigger hills you know you have 2 tonne there. go for biggest cubes.

hitting a roo on the hop or standing makes a big difference to damage.a suspended punching bag would make for some real world damage result. i have been lucky with mine hitting 8 roos and a colarado in 4 years without any damage.
