Maybe too late but I have an 06 and was looking at a 05 last year. Probably the same one as it also had about 25km on it.

The 06 has dual air bags and electric windows.

Not much else from memory.

You would want to get a real good price on the 05 as you can now get an 06 for a great price.

Why?

I had a S111 ex army and its top speed was 80km/h! This is as fast as they go. Well they go faster but you are reving the shit out of it.

I had the Marks 5sp Nissan box in a 2a. It was originally fitted with a stroked 253, but later changed to a 186. Was matched up with S111 Stage 1 rear diff (3.54). This combination was unreal, never had any rear axle, rear diff or transmission problems.

Yes you can inspect any damage/wear through the pto cover. You can also replace the gear through there. The problem is when the shaft is worn on the gearbox as it is the mainshaft. You would be looking at $2000+ to fix the box. No it was not a recall (laugh!!) Chances are it will be something else ...

Rear A-Frame ball joint (most likely)
Uni-joints
Prop shaft slip joints
Suspension bushes (could be any or all of them)
Axles and/or drive flanges
Worn gearbox output shaft and/or transfer input gear (major problem on 200Tdi/LT77)

It is very unlikely to be the CV's.

Hope this helps

I am after the standard hight measurement when fitted?

Dogs are kind of under control, well one is anyway.

Going with 658mm x 380mm 278mm travel, and yes I think they are Patrol. Will go with the Patrol springs. The springs and shocks I have now are Patrol also.

Cheers

Defender rear shock length

Can anyone tell me what the standard measurement of the rear shock is? (from middle of eye to base of pin).

Mine has been modified a bit and trying to work out what shocks to fit.

Thanks

LT 230 Transfer

Hi All I have a question re my LT 230 transfer case that someone might be able to help with. The transfer is currently apart on the bench. When the selector sleeve is engaged there is slight movement between the sleeve and the gear. This happens in both High and Low gears. Is this 'normal'? http ...

Output shaft - 10 spline - OD 30mm - ID (bottom of splines) 26.4mm
Axle - 10 spline - OD 28mm - ID (bottom of splines) 25.4mm

Defender starter motor

The starter in my 200Tdi Defender has finally given up (with a bit of help).

Anyone got one hanging around or know where to get one for the right price?

Cheers
