Re: dual cab range rover starting issues

Was the computer unplugged before you started chopping/welding? You may have fried it if you had not? If the computer is not energising the fuel pump relay then it may not know the ignition is on, or it may be immobilised (if there is an immobiliser fitted).

IIRC the only input the computer gets to ...

Re: Air Hose Blowing Off

I'd agree with gary here. Sounds like a backfire through the inlet manifold. Also might be a good idea to check the timing.....

My timing was a fair whack out when I bought my car and it would backfire through the carby when on gas (also ign leads were arcing out). I ended up with an inverted air ...

You'll probably find you have excessive resistance in the starter solenoid circuit. Even though you have replaced the starter (this isn't the problem) the resistance will lie in either the wiring or the key barrel. Instead of tracing all the wiring and switches etc, you can relay the system so your ...

Well I don't know if it is any help, but on my 82 rangie there is a relay bolted under the dash on the passenger side (you can see it if you stick you head under there)... If I unplug this relay the spark is killed. I have no idea why this relay is there though.

I have disco electronic ignition on ...

Well, I don't know if this really helps you.. but I have an 82 Rangie 2 door on dual fuel. 4.4 out of a P76 with a holley 2 barrel carb, gas is done via 'spuds' in the carb which isn't the most efficient system, but works pretty well none the less. I'm running 35s with a 3" spring lift and 2" body ...

Fix all its issues (many), then maybe get some X-joint rear arms, QT fronts, Maxis (if i can find some), Heim joint the A-frame ball joint, Bilstein 7100 12" shocks and yeah usual stuff really.

I think the front coils are ...

Hit it with some kind of penetrating lube i.e. WD40 or rostoff. Give it a bit then hit the pitman arm with a hammer until it comes off. You can get a ball joint seperator but it will more than likely damage the ball joint on removal.

As the draglink is probably there since new its going to be tight ...

You can put a piece of string (preferably nylon) in the channel where the inner part of the seal flicks up onto the frame. Place the windscreen on the outside of the frame, push a little and then get someone else to pull the string out (perpendicular to the window). This will pop the seal out onto ...

Have a look where the clutch cable bolts to the firewall in the engine bay. Look if it has a crack around the cable.

If there is no crack, replace the cable. They get stiff and result in a very heavy clutch pedal.

The other reason could be that the clutch is severely worn. But, you'd notice ...

Not hard to take the lever out, its just held in with a spring loaded cup thing. Push it in and turn it and it'll pop out. You can then bend the lever whichever way your heart desires, or buy a secondhand one from a wrecker.

With the windows spray some silicone spray down into the window guides ...

HOLY CRAP 40PSI?!?!?! I don't think the tyre is even supposed to be that far inflated. If you look on the tyre placard on the inside of the door jam, it recommends something like 25psi for the stock tyres. I run around 25 with my 32" BFG muddies. Any higher and I think i'd need a kidney belt.

I'd suggest going the full 3" suspension lift. Don't do spacers thats just a body lift for your springs.

You don't have to do a body lift though, so you could stay with 3". I'm running about 5" maybe 5.5"... my 2" BL turned out to be more like 2.5" by accident haha. 31s no rubbing, could probably ...
