Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

Ok so I got my hands on a Jimny pitman arm, pulled my old box out and am in the process of fitting the cressida box.

Im wondering what people have made a rag joint out of, or where they've bought theirs (or materials) from?

Cheers, Aaron

Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

does the cressida box sit inside or out side the rails and if its out side does it cover your chassis number. on one of my sierra's i run a bundera P/S box and it sits outside the rails and covers the numbers, as it bearly sees the road i am not worried, however i wish to run P/S on my daily driver ...

Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

If all else fails with the pitman arm search, can anyone tell me if http://www.puresuzuki.com/pitman_arm.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; would suit a cressida to sierra set up? Other options are non p/s jimny $175 or p/s jimny $275. Im tempted to do the p/s jimny if the calmini ...

Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

hey flickaz, ive done the cressida p/s conversion on one of my cars and i love it! very neat and much lighter than the vitara setup on my other car. i used the joeblow mounting method, using the existing front hole and aligning the rag joint as best achievable before drilling the rear 2 holes. the ...

Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

If you would have taken just a few seconds to look you would see only last week there was one of 500 threads about this very things. I had read that and many other posts before posing my questions. In fact I considered your write up to be great tech. However you haven't answered any of my questions ...

Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

Ok guys, so Ive searched like a possessed man and haven't got the answer I'm looking for. Also all the bible threads come up with the '404 URL cannot be found' message. So anyways I've got an mx82 cressida p/s box and can get the pump for next to nothing. I'm just wondering why some people and ...

Re: 100 series got wet, now my dash lights wont go out!!

Mate no offence but need to search, this is on here atleast once a fortnight. You have mud in your alternater and its not charging properly, give it a good wash out with a garden hose, if that doesnt work may need to be pulled apart by an auto sparky. Thanks mate. To be honest I posted the question ...

100 series got wet, now my dash lights wont go out!!

Went for a bash in some mud/water today and all the ignition/warning lights won't go out. The air filter, oil low/pressure light, battery, timing belt, fuel filter and hand brake lights are permanently illuminated. To start with they flashed on and off a few times, and then stayed on for the entire ...

Re: Window wiper seized up...

2 things I could think of. If U've got a tin top, did you disconnect the window washer line when you pulled your dash apart? Otherwise, and more likely as you mentioned coolant, is your heater core (small radiator looking thing behind the middle of your dash). I'd check the lines on the firewall ...

Re: Window wiper seized up...

I had mine seize up on me out of the blue. It was raining and they literally just stopped moving. Lucky for me in was only light rain and I wasn't far from home. I did the usual, checked the fuse and that power was getting to the motor (easy with the fold down soft top windows!!). I disconnected the ...

I run 4.16's with 235/75/15 BFG's (30's) and stock WT diffs (3.7 i believe). I'd say its a 65/35 split between the gears and locker for best additions I've made. Cos I'm running a turbo GTi set up and redline is set to 7800rpm, previously I could do about 140km/h @7800rpm in low range, now its about ...

I would have to agree with the gearing angle. I initially put my mk3 gti in N/A with 30's and stock drivetrain. It was a lot better on and off road compared to the carby donk and I found it more relaible. Now Ive got 4.16 gears, rear lockright and turbo'd it and its pulled stock standard XR6 turbo ...

I found when i put larger tyres and extended shackles on my sierra that my steering got really light. Its funny you mention this, as I have had issues getting reverse a few times before. tighten the clutch and its the goods, but only lasts a matter of days. Check your clutch fork. Its common for them to crack on the sierras and every time you adjust your clutch, it puts more strain on the fork ...

Some good info from all of you guys, I appreciate it. If youre clutch isnt fully disengaging, ie slightly dragging, that means the synchro's not only have to slow/increase the speed of the shaft (theyre normal job), they also have to deal with the clutch thats still trying to spin the shaft. The ...

Yeah its only supposed to have 30% more clamping pressure than standard and it was fitted the same time I fitted the donk (1yr ago). Can I beef up a 5speed gearbox for turbo GTI?????

Alright, the background. I have a 91 WT SWB zook with a turbo GTI donk. It started playing up after id given it a bit on the tracks, but ...

Semi and full synthetics have totally different properties to natural or hydrocarbon based oils. I think you'll find the detergent levels and oil stabilising qualities are a big part of the cost, but in addition to this synthetics appear to be more 'slippery' for one of a better word, which can make ...

GTI injectors are rated around 270cc. I went up to CA18's at 380cc when I turbo'd mine and the duty cycles are really safe at 11.5afr @ 10psi.
