Profender vs AmadaXtreme
I've been looking at the 3" & 4" Superior Kits for a Prado and am looking for some general feedback on the pros and cons of the Profender vs AmadaXtreme remote res shock options. There's limited to no use of either shock on the Prado forums so was looking for views here as to whether or not the ...

And in terms of reliability, no-one has had any issues but most aren't daily driving. The cases are bullet-proof. A lot of guys are looking at the 4 spd versions as the extra cost isn't significant. Unfortunately IMO none of the ratio options are perfect (STAK 3 spd seem to have better spread of ...

Have a look around http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/ and ask your questions there if you get no luck on Outers.
It may come down to wheel choice as much as lift and bumpstops but there's plenty of good info on there to point you in the right direction.

Atlas 4spd on to Nissan 5 speed?
I've had a hunt around but can't find anyone that has mated the 2 of these yet.
Anyone know of someone who's done it?
Anyone know if it's possible?

I never had it happen really bad on my GU but the panhard bushes, tie rod ends and wheel alignment are common culprits of those symptoms on jeeps. Not sure on price, someone else might chime in but I'd be surprised if they were more than $30-$50 and they just need to be pressed in. You can normally ...

5.13 Ratios - What are my options
I'm looking at using some GQ diffs for a conversion but need to go to 5.13 ratios. The only listing I can find anywhere is on Marks Adapters site and they're almost twice what the 4.88s list for.
Are there other supplier options out there?

have you done many road miles on yours? if so how are they wearing? I originally got them when I had my GU coil cab and only got to do about 5000kms on them before I sold the ute and got my Jeep. Wooders, I've recently been wondering whether the AiRock interface, computer and height sensors could be integrated with some of the airbags that have been developed for Patrols and Cruisers to effectively create an AiRock solution for the larger wagons and utes out there. I appreciate that there ...

They are indeed mattracks and there are at least 2 privately owned roopies and a jackaroo plus the ambos that have been fitted with them this year as far as I know. I work year round for Perisher and we've fitted them to one of our troopies as a test. I can confirm that they are much closer to the ...

I use one on my Jeep - it allows you to read and reset the "check engine" codes and on the odd occasion that it's running trouble free, you can use the guage to provide 4 simulataneous readings from the computer while driving.... everything from a recalibrated speedo reading to voltage to throttle ...

Considering GQs for a diff swap project
I've done a lot of reading and have a couple of questions on the following setup that would be going in a Jeep running 37's. Basic setup that I'm considering is: * Axle sides 'flipped' to make the diff a passenger side drop * Some trussing * MQ knuckles for high-steer The rear can just be ...

For those of us that have no exposure / experience with these sort of things, can any of you guys give us a basic idea of what sort of pda (specs, etc) and what else you need to put something together like this? What are the advantages of the pda setup over something like a Gramin 276C assuming that ...

might i suggest just using a 60 diff?? throw one in the front now too. they are getting so cheap and you get extra width also?? 60 series drums on a 40 seres diff?
Hoping someone might be able to tell me whether or not a 60 series rear drum assembly (the ones with the integrated handbrake) will bolt straight up to a 40 series diff assuming that I can get the full assembly and backing plate . . . appreciate that I'll need to source or fabricate the handbrake ...

I'm running some of the remote cannister units front and rear in my TJ. I've been pretty happy with them and reckon that they've only been outdone by the custom Koni's I got built for the GU cab chassis that I owned before this Jeep. Those rigs were also generally substantially heavier than a TJ. There are plenty of ...
