Just to ad on parts cost for disco's, i've never had any problems with expensive parts, always found them to be similar if not cheaper than any other 4wd. parts are abit more expensive for later model d2's but still not excessive imo.

I've had 10 spline hituff axles in my disco for a few months now, i pulled them out the other day and both were slightly twisted at the splines, and both splines are damaged as well.

Yeah thats what i thought, tjm copied the design of the mcnamara units but aparently they arn't as strong or something....

Hi all.
We are running 33/10.5/15'' BFG Muddies on 15x7" rims on the county at the moment.
These two sizes work realy well togethor and have never roled a tyre off the rim running low pressures (15lb's)
But these rims have very limited off-set so the wheel track is abit narrow and makes it harder to ...

That is an awesome 2door!!!!!!!!!!!

We are only new to the Woolgoolga Club (20 minutes North of Coffs Harbour) and have found the main trips they do are playing in the hills behind Coffs and Woopi, but not quite shore where else they head off to, the coffs club does some of the same, but i know they seem to travel to abit further away ...

We are members of the woolgoolga 4wd club, and the Coffs club seems pretty good, got plenty of rovers in it to!!

We must have been lucky than, picked one up on ebay for i think it was $400 with everything including shafts, winch cradle, bullbar to suit pto, trans drive unit, actual winch and cable, all nuts and bolts etc

oil and filter changes every 5000kms (using good products), general maintnance and checks often.
I spose bigger tyres and more boost and fuel will effect the engine life abit.

What is the best way to find out what high range gearing your case has?
I have 2 LTs in the shed that are pulled down ready to rebuild and they both have a diffrent shaft and bearing setup to support the intermediat gear.

I would go for a disco 3.9ltr incected, you can pick one up for easily under $4000, getting really cheap these days and the 3.9 is a great motor.
He will most likely have a 5speed r380 g'box in his defer, that would be the box to use, shouldn't be any probs mating them togethor, just have to play ...

I mate of mine is thinking of getting a set, i'll ask him today.

Yep they stock them in at coffs harbour 4wd (the flexi plastic ones from the uk i think) the only place in NSW that stocks the plastic ones i think, could be wrong.
I'm pretty shore there the same as Stikmans
