Re: what fuel pump to use for 304 efi 5L in a fj40
Ive just got a bosh inline pump, plumbed into original FJ45 fuel tank. Supplys my 62lb injectors x 4 at 45psi all day everyday. Never had an issue, been like this for over a yr. I just silver soldered a 6AN fitting onto original pick up pipe, mounted pump level with bottom of tank and plumbed up ...

Re: Engine conversion for 40/45 series
I put a 305 Chev in my 45. I had the Dellow bell housing and clutch already, pair of Marks Adaptors engine mounts at 250 bucks, wiring was easy. If you had to buy a V8, bell housing, clutch set up, engine mounts and did it all yourself you could get out of it for under 5k. All depending on what sort ...

Thats what I thought, but what is the first notch for? If it was a 2 speed switch I would have thought it would of had just the 2 positions?

82 FJ45 Wiper Switch ??'s
Any of you guys know if the 82 model wipers have intermittent? I pull my switch to the first notch and get nothing, second notch slow, last notch fast.. I"m presuming the first notch is supposed to be intermittent but haven't had a chance to pull it out and check the wiring yet..

Re: Calling owners of V8-converted landcruisers
Sweet as mate very nice work. Forgive me if i missed it, but what did you do with your p/s lines and all your heater plumbing (and a/c lines if you have it). Also how much work was involved in moving the gearbox forward 80mm? Daniel I unbolted the gearbox crossmember and lined up the rear holes ...

It will only draw as much current as the radio wants. IE just like a normal car, so you will not end up with a flat battery.

Re: 24v-12v solution?
The only way to set it down is with a transformer. I had to build a little unit to charge my psp, phone etc off a 24V AC supply a few yrs ago. I put the supply into a bridge rectifier to make AC to DC then used a transformer to step it down from 24 to 12V. The transformer cost me about $120. But now ...

G'day guys. Just a quick one. Is there anything that stops you from putting a later model body on an older model chassis? Just sorting through a few ideas for my next project. Cheers Usually this is not a problem cause the later model body complys to more adrs etc .. you'll find if you say put a gu ...

Re: 60L of dead fuel - where to dispose of it...?
Two bottles of octane boost into it and run it in your car. No drama. How old is it? It doesnt' generally go off unless it is 2 stroke. Ive had fuel sitting in my boat for a couple of yrs unused, (4 stroke) just added a bottle of octane boost and it ran fine. Sell it cheap to your neighbors for ...

Finally got of my arse and went to the wreckers and scrounged around for some 60 series stuff to do a power steer conversion on my 40. Picked up a steering box, Fj55 steering column (even though its 2inch longer than a 40, it has a spline at the fire wall for uni joint). These are the main parts ...

60 series box, 55 series column and a saginaw pump on your V8 with custom lines made up will work a treat. Thats what I had on my old shorty. I have factory p/s on my current 45 but running the saginaw pump on the 305 chev. Here is the pump mounted onto my V8 just before the transplant http://i208 ...

This is a universal system that would suit a 45/47. I was going to look into it until I bought a 45 with factory air.
