do you want an all terrain tyre or mud terrain?
I think there are a few 17" ATs, if you want MTs then 16 gives a wider choice.
my diesel GV came with 17" alloys but the dealer gave me a set of 16" steel rims (these come std on the base models and the dealer had several spare sets from people ...

Blasphemy! Soft roaders don't have low range, my TD Grand Vitara does.
There was a recall regarding the DPF so the problem may have been solved. No problems in the 6,000 km so far. The manual gearbox is pretty ordinary and seeing as diesel is about 20% dearer than ULP ...
