Offroad 4x4 did that for me, it's been on the hoist a few times and no one has found it. But I'll get it checked again for sure. Thanks mate.

steering experts anyone? 80 series shake

hey mates, Got a '96 with a 3inch spring lift, adjustable tuff dog panard rods, and a so far undiagnosible shake. Only happens when coasting round a right hand turn at any speed. Adjusting the panard rod seemed to do something for a while, (tried this several times), but after some weeks it returns ...

Are you saying I can get within a couple of kW on straight gas without this technology and within it on dual fuel with it? Do you have specs on timing for a 4.5 80 ...

still reckon you'd be chasing your tail. It might go faster in the low gears but without the power the top gear would be useless. That's my 2cents worth anyway.

you gonna buy mytank's?

I would mate. You won't regret it as long as you buy the right one. Shame yes but the shame is that they used that motor in such a nice vehicle. No good waitn till the 3f dies then converting it cuase it will probly go forever!

Oh yeah, I had to edit my post where I said I had 385's, they're 285's and although you can only go 2.5 in the springs, it's a bit hard to tell that it's 3 and it might sag a bit. Don't want to attract the wrong kind of attention hey?

You're makin sense. It is a mixer type, so I probly won't get it all back hey. But the 2nd tank would mean I'm not at the servo every 2nd day, so that would be nice.
The other thing is, they reckon it can be a bugger to start on a cold morning without the petrol clickin in first. Can this be overcome?

Thanks for the reply mate. I had thought of that but I don't think it's as bigger issue as it used to be There are websites that show that gas is available all over the place. (Maybe not to the red center without the big distances between) Where I'm likely to go it's available. (Can even get the ...

Of course the bars have to go up too. If you go 3 inch in the springs and 2 in the body you get five for the price of a 3 inch spring lift. Keeping your engine low reduces body roll. You need (should have) a cardinal shaft in the front if you want to go 3- 4 or higher in the springs because the ...

give you nine grand for it!! I found out that the 3f car I bought's genuine 200 000kms was actually 300 000. My neighbor wound it back himself. Luckily he didn't tell me till after I'd passed it on. Not sure what I'd have done if I'd have known. (Besides knee cap him  :bad ...

Body lift is heaps cheaper and keeps your center of gravity low too. Spring lift is big bucks if you go that high, cause of all the other things you need with it, eg castor correction, adjustable panard rods, cardinal shaft or free wheel hubs. But if you have the $$ sweet.

Don't know about laws down there, (Think they're easier than up here) But a 2 inch under the body after the 3-4 in the springs is sweet. Did mine recently. Pig of a job though. Radiator needs dropping, hole in firewall where steering arm goes through needs elongating (If that's a word) and need to ...

Goin gas only on the 80

Anyone know if it's possible to gain your original power back (from petrol only) by dumpin petrol from the equation altogether on the 4.5L 80? I have a 2nd gas tank that i reckon would fit in where the main petrol tank is now. That way i could get a better range with the 2. (You don't get too far on ...

you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. I had one the same with heaps of gear on it, found a '96 on gas (4.5 injected of course) and got it for $9750, swap all the gear over and still got $9000 for the old one. (I think I got lucky though) Way more power in the injected. (Would like to ...
