TD42 cupped injector washer - which way up?

With the new set of injectors came a small silver cupped washer which goes at the very tip of the nozzle in the head. Does the flat side of the washer go towards the washer or the head?
Thanks

Removing TD42 injectors without breaking the spill tube

My new injectors from HiFlo arrived today. Ended up aborting the fitting operation due to not having a suitable tool to hold the injector while trying to undo the very tight nuts on top of the spill tube banjo fittings.
Trying to undo the nut was resulting in the injecter trying to unscrew from the ...

Same here for me. Going from 31" to 33" only drops the revs by about 150rpm in 5th at 100 km/h. On 31's my speedo was about 5km/h optimistic, on 33's, spot on.

In addition to a nice big tranny cooler on the falcon, its worth putting synthetic fluid in, or at least changing it a lot more often than than the service schedule specifies.

Not really, turbo has been on it since new (1989) but I know its been rebuilt at some stage in the last 420,000 km.

The shaft has a fair bit of side play but no end float.

If thats post turbo and the gauge is accurate that's scary and not sustainable.

I had both issues - the crack in the firewall (about 20cm long) and worn body mounts.

TD42 turbo: starting issues - smoke and a miss

My TD42 with aftermarket turbo (old AIT system - in a GQ) has started to smoke for a few seconds on cold startup. Smoke is blueish white (more whitish if I forget to glow and it cranks a bit before starting). Still does it even if it starts in 'half a crank'. Turbo is a bit oily on the outside but ...

Towing mirrors for a GQ?

I have to pick up a 20' caravan next week and bring it home for use as an on-site van. I dont have towing mirrors for my GQ wagon and will need to get some as the van is about 4 hours away and its 8' wide.
