I fitted Phillips plus 120 to my sister Honda Jazz, they work awesome and seem to be lasting really well.

Re: dash light indicates "stabilizer is Off"

It's your rear sway bar release at the back, check that the sway bar link on the drivers side is pushed up (push it up by hand).
I assume you don't have a rear sway bar in? If you did it'd lock back in when the lever is pushed in and you go round a corner.

Check your alternator charge, can sometimes cause all the warning lights to come on when it faults.

Re: Fuel consumption TD42

Wound up fuel pump, extractors, snorkel, that's the engine mods, running on 33's.
I get 15.5L - 16L per 100K's round town (stop start all the time) and i drops to 11.5L per 100k's when i do a solid tank of fuel on the motor way, the engine has 320 000 on it now too.

I'm no expert, but i would think that a decent weld job with the support bracket as well would be fine, that tearing is why the support was fitted as a factory recall i believe.

In short, yes the solar panel will charge the battery from the anderson plug, it won't run the fridge indefinately but will definately extend your stay.

Try getting some actual lightforce bulbs, sounds stupid, but philips and lightforce run their filiments in different directions from memory (ie: one side to side, one base to tip), sounds tupid but worth a try.

Re: 24v-12v solution?

Make the current 24v - 12v transformer stay on permanently. Then hook the stereo up to it like you would to the battery, the "accessory" side needs to have a relay put in line (use a 24v switched relay). Then switch the relay off accessories. The switching and contact circuits in relays are seperate ...

Re: pump timing td42

I've got an 89 GQ TD42 that i fitted a GU TD42 turbo pump to. Set to .65mm and it goes an absolute treat. Never done the injectors on it either. I'd set it to .7 or .74 and run it and see what you think. I'd be disinclined to advance it too much unless it's being done by a diesel professional. Mine ...

Looking at putting a water to air inter cooler system on a GU TD42 ute. Those "smart charge battery chargers" are renowned for doing that, they fail and then don't go to float. Especially the blue ones "soubds dumb but the blue ones are the worst for doing." I've replaced at least 15 of them that have done exactly what yours has done.

Re: Dash board shorting

Unplug the reverse switch on the gearbox and see if it still does it, i have a feeling the reverse circuit may be on the same fuse. It could be something simple like a shorted reverse light bulb or damaged wiring on the gearbox from wheeling.

It's just a spair vac line foe different model pootrols, some need it some don't, if you don't need it seel it off properly as the little rubber cap can come off then you lose all vac. The rubber cover on it is just to keep dust out till fitment.

Re: Second battery DEAD after two years!

Be careful of the 2 year warranty on the optima, some suppliers consider 4wds to be commercial vehicles and will therefore only offer a 6 month warranty. It's a crock of sh.t but true. We sold one at work a while ago when we found out the hard way about the warranty issue. We copped it on the chin ...

I also had a similar problem with mine, but it would sometimes slip too, turned out the booster had split it's seal and sucked fluid into itself (caused by a leaking master cylinder), when it warmed up it stuffed up, but even then only sometimes.
Asuming yours has the booster at least :D

Re: td42 won't rev past 1800 ????

If it's blowing unburnt fuel past 1800rpm it sounds timing related to me. Check the pump hasn't been bumped or anything during the work done, also try adjusting the fuel on the pump itself and see if winding the fuel up / down makes any difference. When i replaced my injector pump 12 months ago it ...
