If you're in here saying there is a sticker on the back that says Cruiser, you're wasting your time, use that time to get a girlfriend, a real job, or your balls back out of your wife's handbag.

Please remove them from this section.
No offence, but they are for school runs and blokes who can't afford a real Landcruiser.

i did this to mine and ended up putting a drop bracket on the front then put it back to the shakles up front until i can do it properly. A cut and turn wont be enough the pinion angle is too great. when i do it again i will cut the perches off the diff and correct the caster that way. Im thinking ...

Yep, 1 more month and it will be here.
On sale for around $40k they reckon, and there may be a turbo diesel option.

The ute springs are massively long, longer than FJ55s by a fair margin.

Sadly it si worth mroe in the vehicle, and with 100,000ks.... its a bit of a risk.
Having said that it is actually worth something if someone has a blown up one and wants to just install a new one, then you might fetch good money for it.

Re: COOLER PIPING STEEL, ALLOY OR STAINLESS?
Without doubt, the BEST material is alloy. Cooling and weight.
Having said that, it is a pain to work with and get right (for most of us common folk)
Stainless is nice and pimp, but again a little hard.
Mild steel is the easiest and cheapest.
Poly is the worst.

Weding can be OK but.. doesnt matter if its for comp use or general recovery, the paramaters are the same. I test welds as part of my job. May I sugest that you 'always" put a bolt through as a secondary safety factor. I would also like to question the fillet size in the pic of Buds above. Withuot ...

Re: Rover/toyo diff swap
Go for 4.88, or 4.5 if you do street.
4.88s are pretty readily available here. Just buy whole air locked centres and put them into the rover housings. Then get custom axles. 4.88s are readily available.

You are correct Ray, the 120 series never had the 3.4l 95series = 5VZE -3.4l 120series= 1GRFE -4.0l First appeared in 2002, this model included a re-designed front suspension to address reliability concerns of the previous generation, and an all new body designed at Toyota's ED2 design studio in ...

Re: 1uz in a 120 series prado
I think the best way to do it would be adapt the 1uz auto to the transfer basically using the adapter and maybe the output shaft from the auto if needed the reason being is the 1uz auto is electronically controlled by the ecu or ect (depending on which 1uz you are going to use) it will drive much ...

Sounds like you got a TD42.. $7300 is around the right price for a TD42. The TD42T should have a turbo hanging off the exhaust manifold.

Hi Bj, Actually that was the first thing that came to my mind. Maybe the front end was replaced by a hilux. I see a lot of stainless or "plastic" snorkels but hardly any custom aluminum ones, is there a reason? I can get 1/8" thick wall 4" aluminum tube for way cheaper than stainless. US didnt get that front end, or the guards that go with it.
Is it possible it was in an accident and had a new front end?
That front end is a 2001-2005 Hilux, SR5 4WD front end.
