Getting insurance for events is not as easy as one would think, you need to write a plan and everything needs to be noted.
Working on this slowly.
Well this event is based around the average Joe Blows everyday driver with limited mods.
The suspension will be that you can drive on the road legally ...

This event is still in the making, the insurance to cater for a event is the frustrating part, but being sorted. The logistics and planning is time consuming to say the least, so patients is required.
A plan of the event has to be written up to be able to source insurance to make all parties happy ...

One thing i've noticed about the "everyday daily driver' style of competitions that have been held over the years is that people don't seem to get it that if you want to race or compete you're going to get damage. I'm guilty of this as well so i'm no saint, but people don't seem to realise that ...

The winch will be apart of the challenge, but will cater for those that dont have a winches, to generate more interest from from the gerenal public.

No we havent spoken to any one at suspension stuff about any of this at all.
The area for start would be well around The out skirts of brisbane, at a number of parks or private land.
I am gathering as much info and feedback from everyone in regards to this.

Yes Ian did compete, a couple of roll overs.....bad being the supercharged shorty from Rocky.
This was my first event in my new Turbo charged GQ ute.....went great, bar a few little teething probs, other than that top weekend.

Thats the one's.....you also have to have a tag on race seats that have ADR3, VSB 5A or VSB 5b which monza have on theirs, and when i bought my from ebay was lucky they had the label on them.

I have just built my cage myself and have had my cage approved and when it comes to the harnesses, I have 2 that I bought off ebay and they are monza brand and they complie with ADR 4, AS/NSZ 2596 and they are 4 point and are mounted on my cage.

Well Instead of mounting the front winch at the rear, I think i'll just mid mount the rear winch for weight distrubution.

If what people say about lifting the rear why has alot of the out back guys mid mounted theirs :?:

Thanks Toohey, that thread was educational. With have a look at Stauff clamps, didnt even think of them and would be a better finish too.

Have to admit there is some thinking invovled in a good working setup and somewhat competive too. :shock:

Well, there is alittle more involved or to think about when approaching this setup.
It will be in comp scene so has to spool evenly.

More thought to this is required on my part.

centre mount winch

As I have a front mount intercooler I was thinking of centre mounting my front winch.
I will be using plasma rope and wondering what tubing would be ideal for feeding to the front bar and can anyone help with info or and photos on this subject?
