Install a helper spring like a polyair airbag. It can be adjust to match the load you are carrying. Installing heavier springs will give you a harsher ride when you are not loaded up. I don't mind the thought of a harder ride as i'm not running swaybars atm! I've thought about polyairs but want to ...

thanks, i know roughly what pound rate i want, i was more after feedback on the brand of springs ie: i've been told that tough dogs won't sag (by the salesman) I've got LPG 90ltr, rear kaymar wheel carrier (not the full bar), drawers, winch bar, and soon to have a 9500lb winch. i want to maintain a ...

80 Coils!?
Just after some feedback on coils in 80 series cruisers! I'm looking at puting new 3"HD coils in my 80, i have 3" king springs in it atm and find them too soft for the load i'm carrying. I was just going to replace the old ones with new kings but thought i'd see if there is a better brand for what i ...

FYI 100 series front brake pads fit into 80 series calipers.. They have a slightly larger pad contact area and from all reports increase braking output on the earlier trucks with 15 inch wheel and smaller rear brakes A 16 wheel and brake conversion would be cheaper and easier than messing with all ...

Just put a new master, Bendix 4wd pads front and rear, and flushed the entire system with new dot3 fluid! did it all last Friday, the pedal feels like it's doing something now, so my issues are fixed. (as far as the truck is concerned) I was just curious to see if swapping the boosters ...

was talking to a mate who is a mechanic, he reckons the 80's are "under boosted" and also said that every 80 he gets into seems to have a spongier pedal than say a 100series!
I was more wondering if you can mix and match between 80's & 100's like you can on a WB to HQ for example!?

80 series brake booster Question
Has any tried or heard of an upgrade to the 80 series brake booster?
ie: is it possible to adapt a 100series or 120series booster to an 80series?
Any info would be awesome, thanks!

My Dad Put an ARB bull bar on his 120 series prado, He now has the standard bumper taking up space in his garage! The standard bumper was on the prado for 6months and is in "as new" condition....... We want to know what it would be worth, and if it's worth the hassle to sell!? Cheers. Jono.

I spoke to a mechanic mate today and he said that being a timing "chain" it's not something that needs regular changing, (regular being every 100thou or so!) Like a timing "belt" would.
thanks heaps for your feedback!

mine does it too buddy! I got a better muffler fitted today, it's to loud to hear the whistle now!
I was going to remove the rear resonator but started the engine after the new muffler went in and deciced that without the rear resonator it would be far to loud!
when are we going for a wheel again??

If the captive nuts break loose, (like they did on mine!!! ) you can cut the head off the rear 2 bolts from underneath with an angle grinder, and then knock em' through with a hammer!!! just be carefull with the grinder near fuel tanks and fuel lines!!! re: extractors, 3" exhaust!!!
You'll have very little power with low revs!!! Engines still need some degree of back pressure, if you put a huge exhaust on it you won't get any "go" out of it until your reaching the mid to top end of any gear!!! 4x4's need the power down low, bottom end tourque etc... You might be able to help ...

I'm not to sure what size they are exactly, about 1.5 inches at a guess!!! your other option for flares is to simply make your own out of some 5mm or so, thick rubber (needs to be stiff!) just cut it to the desired length and width and then fix it on with some self tappers or anything else that'll ...
