have just finished putting an auto behind my td4.2, as said had to redrill all three holes for the diesel starter as it is a bigger diameter. no problem as the bell housing is cast with extra meat in the three spots that require drilling and tapping

gu auto's where only releaseed in one country and that is Japan. The way nissan australia's licence with nissan japan works is this, nissan aust is only aloud to sell parts for vehicles which nissan aust sells. so if you walk into a nissan dealer and ask for a flex plate off a 2005 auto 4.2 diesel ...

there could be something else wrong. The eight flicker is for the A/T Fluid Temperature Sensor, it may be faultly. This sensor is used to tell the TCM how hot the A/T is. Once the A/T reaches a set temp then and only then will the torque converter lock up. it may pay to check it out.
