i had the same prob ran great on petty for the first month i had it then went to s#$t and only ran on gas. i had the carbie re-kitted(as the gas drys out the seals) and a tune done new plugs and points and runs great on both again.

my gq tb42 auto has great power, it's had a few dramas but mostly been reliable but is a pig on petrol. 22-25L per 100K's on gas it is about 22L per 100k's so im happy enough with running it on gas most of the time.

Putting an Electric Fuel Pump On A Duel Fuel 89 GQ

Hey guys the mech fuel pump on my patrol has died and i an looking at putting in an electric pump was just wondering where is the best place to install it ( the tank is a 75L flat tank under the right rear passengers seat ) and also a suggestion on the type/brand of pump to use.

89 Model GQ not idling on petrol

Hi i have a 89 GQ tb42 on gas and petrol the car runs fine on gas but will not idle on petrol. It drives fine on petrol when the throttle is open does anyone have a clue on what is wrong?
