Quuick ebay gives me $325 each from tempe tyres for 35's - reputable shop There is also someone called 'international tyre trader' who has them listed for 286 each. No idea what freight would cost from either of those though At those prices I would just buy locally - IMO not worth the potential ...

I am only a backyard hack, but imo with tig you can definatly run without filler and just melt the corners into the weldpool. Probably not a bad way to learn as well as you can concentrate on the arc and just move metal around without having to also worry about dabbing filler rod in.

Hats off for trying something differant. Turbos on hilux's can be done cheap using the turbo setup off a 2.4L surf ect from wrecker or ebay. As well as buying the supercharger you will need plenty of other bits to make it fit as well as working out how to run pulley/belts. One issue you will have ...

If it is going to be a knock around 4by I have heard really good things about lic40 - get in touch with Mick on here as he is a painter and seems to swear by the stuff. I think it can even go over bare metal ruffed up with 80grit I think. I would also hit it with a rust converter of some description ...

If you are after a bit more poke out of the 1uz why not put a blower on it, fron the sounds of things it would be more reliable and probably cheaper in the long run - eaton m90 and eaton m112 can be bought for less than a grand on ebay then some fabrication

How is that going to work? A hilux seat sits almost on the floor, a Patrol seat is mounted quite high, and has about a 4" "spacer" between the slide which bolts to the floor and the actual seat base. So if you had the floor pan of the Hilux Chassis sitting at the same spot as the Patrol body, the ...

I am doing a built with a GQ chassis as the base and will be fully engineered etc. The amount of 'body lift' is determined fromt the front seats of the body I am putting on (LN106 hilux) - I am allowed to go 4 inch total lift so if the seat in teh hilux sit at the same height as the original patrol ...

Body Placement on chassis swap

I am in the middle of a build which involves putting a ln106 hilux (1990) dual cab body onto a gq patrol chassis and just trying to work out where to sit the body so that tires clear. Re: Rego before or after on chassis swap??

NSW is the same - with a body swap it is registered as whatever the chassis is and in nsw depending on what year the chassis is from you may have to modify the body to bring it up to the same adr that the chassis had to comply with. Why do you want to keep the rego - it will have to be certified ...

The original plug leads have the build date printed on them. That ecu is identical to mine 94 ls400, the earlier ecu has 1 huge electrical plug held in with a central bolt . My guess would be 94-97. I think the ecu's that have the 'large' plug - 3 x 40 pin plugs are from toyota soarers - the number ...

I think it was the number under TOYOTA, and yes I think I got my info off lextreme which appears to be broken at the moment.

Evan I also have a spare crispy soarer engine which will have a rear sump on it - I got loads of useful stuff (some may call it junk) clogging up my driveway

I am not sure if you can get it off the engine number but I worked out mine was a 91-94 soarer from the number on the ecu. Maybe try over on lextreme.

Off the top of my head I think the fuse and relay for the ac is in the passenger side kick panel right up near the bottom of the dash. If it isn't there I have a dual cab with the dash half pulled apart so should be able to go looking for it easily (i'm not home at the moment)

Cheers
