You are allowed to replace the CAT, you are not allowed to remove the internals or the CAT completely on a post 1987 vehicle. A high flow CAT has steel internals and apparently last forever, whereas a standard one has ceramic (?) internals. Had mine done in Coburg but any exhaust joint will be able ...

I've just put a 2 1/4" system on my 3.0lt 5 speed as well. Headers and engine pipe are standard up to the cat, but the cat was replaced with a steel high flow and 2 1/4" to the muffler and 2 1/2" from muffler back. I feel it made a great difference to the low down torque and up top HP. I havn't had ...

33" MTZ for Pajero NH GLS
Awright, my apologies to all the gurus here - I've spent a few days trawling the forum and found heaps, but not being familiar with the tech I've gotten more confused with the information! So beggin' your pardon, here are some (hopefully) direct questions and would appreciate your indulgence ...

Figured it out!
Thanks for the suggestions above. Fortunately, I managed to make it work. So for those who are interested, the Mitsubishi Pajero NH GLS 1992 Auto has headlights which are 'positive-switching'. This means that the spotlight relay cable is spliced onto the pass/high-beam wire; and the earth cable from ...

Help Sought for Paj NH Headlight Wiring
Been trying to install spotties on my own, but can't figure out whether my 1922 NH Paj headlights are positive or negatively switched. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. (I've looked in the forums and elsewhere, but couldn't find anything specific to 92 NHs. It seems Mitsubishi does/did ...

Spare Wheel Hanger for NH GLS Paj
Hi All,
Does anyone know who makes a spare wheel hanger or bracket for my 92 NH? I've looked at the Kaymar website, and asked at a local ARB, both told me there's none for my truck. If anyone had knocked up a workable unit, I'd be happy to consider paying him/her for a similar unit. Thanks.

Yeah, heheh. Finally bit the bullet. But wait - next year I'd buy another one, just for hard core use.... Thanks for the tips. A few questions, since you have practically the same model I do: - what bull bar do you have? Why no winch? - are you satisfied with the TJM XGS? I've seen the FAQ Bible on ...

This is YOUR Pajero!
Hi All, So I have my newly acquired 1992 NH GLS (yes, with adjustable dampers too...) in totally stock condition. If this was YOUR Pajero, what would you install/upgrade 1st, to get it ready for beginner 4wding? Also, I've understood that various waterproofing jobs around the engine and components ...

LPG on 3.0 V6 NJ - Updates?
Dear All, I've just bought a 92 NJ GLS 3.0 V6 with everything in it. Many thanks to everyone on this site, where I religiously studied almost all models of interest, before settling on a Paj. I've studied the Mitsu Bible, and read about the no-nos of installing LPG on a 3.0 V6. Now, I have LPG on my ...

JEs mate: thanks for that. If I was going to replace it, it would be a brand new head and I'd get someone to do it: have it done right the first time. Question: 2k you mentioned would be for labour ONLY?? Or does that include the head? I know they're all estimates but at least some idea... Thanks ...

GQ 4.2L Petrol Engine Expected Lifespan
Hi Folks, Umm, real newbie here. I'm just about to get my grubbie fingers on a 1990 GQ 4.2L Petrol Auto (carbie). It's a family wagon and pretty decent condition, but has about 250k kms on it. Does anybody know - assuming it has been reasonably maintained and hasn't been bush-bashed - how long does ...
