Hi lads Looking at fitting an R150 gearbox and transfer into my LN106 hilux. The G52 has packed it in and i need something stronger. What mods need to be done to fit the box in? Will my single piece tailshaft bolt straight on? Are the mounting points on the cross member the same? Does the 2.4l surf ...

Would the TD04 need a whole new set up or bolt in where the ct20 was? Also when you mention HI flowing a turbo, what do you mean as When I tried to serch a turbo place to get it done, I found nothing. If it doesnt, you can get the end plate on your manifold modified to suit the TD04. Another good t...

Try and grab a TD04, as this what i have and find it great. Its not a huge turbo but boosts up early (about 1500rpm) and by about 1800rpm is pushing 5psi. Tops out at about 13psi at 3000rpm

What boost are you running? Grab a water to air intercooler or a cheaper option is a standard intercooler off an rx-7 or skyline. Should be able to wind the boost up safely to about 12 - 13 psi.

I have a spare claw on the rear at the moment and get stuff all grip on the road. Always spin when going around corners and is shocking in the wet.
However off road they provide great grip in a straight line but like to slide sideways when they get the chance.

You can tighten the steering up at the box. There ia a bolt on the side that you adjust which will reduce the slop. Make sure you don't tighten it too much because they can lock up sometimes.

Basically, you need to talk to a mechanical engineer, preferably before you do the work, they detail up some plans then send them to DOT for approval. If approved, they will send you the paperwork of approval. If its work that been done and needs approval, i guess you go see a mechanical engineer, t...

The tabs that are welded to the top bar were beefed up. I had an extra peice of bar rolled to suit the cross bar, to which the tabs were added. This means that if the shocks decide to move, all the stress isn't placed on the welds that hold the tabs on.

Willy Hilux wrote:The shocks are layed over too far and thats why you get bad body roll. Spread the top mounts out a bit and that will fix it a bit.
The tops are way too close together. You aren't gaining anything from placing them so close together, as said, it only causes body roll.

Inverting the rear shocks will change the pivot point of the diff, so they will improve flex over stock shock setup. It should give you 2 or 3 inches of extra travel, just as long as you fit longer shocks and if you don't fit large offset rims, the inside wall of the trye will rub on the chassis whe...

Extended shackles are illegal whatsoever. Should be able to change the rear shackles back to standard ones if you have them. Then get him to approve the inverted rear. Only problem being that the rear shackle angle will be shite using stock length shackles. I can't see why it would be a problem havi...
