Re: roof mounted lights

In SA the regs used to be a maximum of 6 lights,2 of which were headlights, plus a combination of either spot/foglights in an even con-figuration IE 2X spots and 2x fogs,4X fogs(?) or 4X spots. Anything that was considered off-road (roof lights) had to be covered or facing rearward whilst driving on ...

Anybody know of a way to upgrade 24v 25A alternator to anything better? Other than buying 24v alt off of a truck and having to adapt..read "project"?

repeat the test but rotate over 10 revolutions, will give a more accurate reading than 2 and a bit.Always ensure rear axle is on axle stands on a level surface and both front wheels are chocked front/rear before you get under car to spin rear prop.Reckon you'd have 4.625's.Cheers,Mark.

Don't weld the chassis, just a plate onto the mount.you should have no problems with the shifters.Only other problem you may have is 4sp usually out of MQ=square connectors for 4wd/rev switches,MK has round connectors-just change the switches.

5 speed

The 5 speed box is 100mm longer than the 4 speed due to the 5th gear exttension cover. As i remember you can bolt up the passenger side using the 5 speed mounts from a SD33 n/a shorty but you will need to fabricate the drivers side mount to suit.Basically welding on a plate that moves the bolt holes ...

I think you should go L28,but thats just 'cos i'd buy the sd33! The SD33 would have made a good tank motor, even still i wouldn't part with mine. Not really into 'power' or 'acceleration' these days, but i know this ute'll still be going long after i've karked it! It's slow and sluggish but it still ...
