I gave it a hit with the compressor and which seemed to lessen the restriction in the water lines. Bolted it back in and seems to be sorted but will find out over the next few days. As for cleaning, I can safely squirt a bit of carby cleaner inside it then? And hit it again with the compressor? I ...

Ok guys, i have flushed the cooling system and i'm still having idle problems. Last night after flushing and refilling i conducted a couple more tests. From cold start idle sat at around 1100 rpm. Removing the temp sensor for the ecu made no difference but I expected that being cold. Over the next 5 ...

one other thing it could be is if you are running a vit air flow sensor, check to make sure that the big 3 inch hose clamps are not done up to tight. if they are to tight it can jam the sensor and not let it pop all they way back out on idle. This was the problem on one of my mates G16b, took as ...

yet another high idle q - 1.6 16v
I have been running a g16 16v mpfi from a 95 model swb vit in my sierra now for a few months and it has been running fine up until the last couple of days. The idle seems to be somewhat erratic (mostly high). This morning i conducted a few tests as follows. Idle was high from the get go, 5 mins ...

Fibreglass top rubbers
Hey guys, just did a search on this but still have a few questions regarding the seals. I've just fitted some second hand fibreglass panels (the ute cab version) to my 89 soft top. Got one or two leaks and fitment issues but I expected that! Now I can probably find and replace the four main seals in ...

I put hella 4000s on my sierra. I have an arb bar so it'd be identical to yours. Had to make a custom mount tho. All it is is a piece of steel bridging the two existing spotlight mounts with holes drilled closer to the centre to allow the lights to fit. cant remember the dimensions for the lights ...

There are a few places in oz where you can get calmini gear (not just their suspension and gears). Three that i know of are high country customs (think they're in NSW), 4wdusa (not sure if this is the right name, they're in WA and seem to be chepaer than the others, freight costs could be a killer ...

Just as a side note, shouldn't all ally radiators be rubber (or some other non-conducting material) mounted?? I was led to believe that ally radiators mounted to the body or chassis can corrode or oxidise due to current passing through them. Or have i been mislead?? I hope not, I played for ages ...

low range gearing
I'm probably going to get a few "why bother"s for asking this but I'm not all that familiar with transfer gears and was wanting to know if I bought a set (something like calmini's 4.9:1s) could I simply put in the low range gear set for the time being and leave my standard highs in? The reason being ...

vit fuel tank in sierra possible?
Did a few (a lot actually) serches for this, nearly drove me nuts. Can someone point me in the right direction? All I need to know is if it's worthwhile. I have 1.6 16v in my sierra with standard tank and fuel system in tray (soft top) comprising of 2 pumps and a surge tank. Noise is already driving ...
