Re: 2.4l toyota diesel into a zook?

Is the bearing removable once its welded up? If it's set up the way I think it is, you won't use the original bearing housing, the hubs replace it. similar setup to the 60 diffs in your Sierra Dave LOL I havent been on Outers for months because pretty much the last time I was here Dave was talking ...

Re: Castlemain Rod shop bellhousing

bolted up so sweet, light tp and she was on. only thing i didn't like was the 4 bolt holes on the motor side are about 14mm for a 10mm bolt. The kit came with 4 4mm thick laser cut washers so they cannot pull in. I will have to skim the spacer plate between the gearbox and bellhousing by about 4mm ...

Re: i keep bending drag links! wt sierra

Don't cut it in half!!!!!! That is a very bad idea. Get some tube with the same inside diameter as the outside diameter of the drag link, cut it in half length ways then put the 2 halfs over the drag link and stitch the tube back together. Dave why you would tell someone to cut a steering component ...

Re: 2.4l toyota diesel into a zook?

I agree with the yota Diesel, if you want a Diesel, a VW 1.6 or 1.9 is your best bet, but hard to find over here. There's a huge range of aftermarket stuff for the toy axles, with gears from 3.2's all the way through to 5.29's, Most of the extra mass in the Toy axles is in the brakes, When upgraded ...

Vit transfer case issues

Here's one for the guru's here. I'm no gearbox specialist, in fact I hate working on them. I usually stick to engines and making stuff  So.... anyways Pulled a Transfer case out of a 91 Vitara today to put a bearing kit through it. Apparently the owner had reduction gears fitted about 12 months ...

Ok, so my defender, the drive plates and CV Splines are stuffed, more backlash than a fart in an elevator full of models :bad-words:

How much would I be looking at to have the CV's replaced and HD drive flanges installed ?
I've had quotes of up to $200 each just for the flanges

Re: GQ brake issues

So with the engine off can you get a firm pedal or does it sink? Yup, no vacuum to the booster and it's rock solid Interestingly, the vacuum pump generates a bit over 30" of vacuum, I woulda thought that was a lot  You may have some crud in the system and when you pushed the piston in it's ...

LN or YN65, same easy panels to get a little prone to rust in the cab

LN YN 86-106 Slightly larger cab, panels harder to get, better gearbox.

Diffs etc are the same, brakes on the later models are larger but they are interchangeable with the earlier ones

With Hydro Assist steering, will the wheels still turn if you take the draglink off? If not, is there away to make it so it runs with a draglink onroad and without one off road?
