The standard 17's are 17"x7.5" with a 6" backspace, which i think is about a 57mm offset. The stud pattern is 5 on 5"(127mm). Good luck finding a set of 17" steelies or a set of trailer hubs with that stud pattern in oz. I just got a set of 16"x8" procomp steelies for my rubicon so i wouldn't ...

I am gathering parts to do almost the same swap :

Vitara engine, gearbox and transfer with rockhopper gears

Hilux diffs with 5.29 or possibly 5.7 hiace gears

33 or 35 inch tyres

All in a 84 lwb just to be different

Ringr adapter

Is there anywhere in oz that supplies the ringr adapter from Rock 4x fabrication in the USA.

I like the idea of the yota box and transfer, but not the super heavy weight engine.

On my old 85 there was a thin wire from the batt to the firewall and the thick wire from the batt to one of the bolts holding the starter on
