Ahh ok.
gtwebbie Yeah they are clear man.
I am still waiting on my master cylinder to be done. Good thing there is a spare car to drive.

Yeah the air is comingo ut under pressure. The proportioning valve is the bit that has the arm connected to the diff? Applies more brake when under load? The arm on mine is bent way out of shape so I doubt it works at all.

I agree. I get the shaky leg thing after I have pushed hard racing. The adrenaline is flowing in a big fashion thanks to having the car close to its limits. Going down mountains especially.

It leaks fluid out the back of the master cylinder. Shoes are pretty worn, but it seems to me that the braking system is sucking air in somewhere, hence why we are resealing the master cylinder. If brake fluid was disappearing into the wheel cylinder would this cause a buttload of air to be ...

The rear drums on my 83 hilux will not bleed up. The fronts bleed up nicely but the rears keep spitting air. As a result I cannot get any pedal so I can drive the car. I have put loads of brake fluid through and still nothing. Things I have tried, Replaced the master cylinder, however I am still ...

We've been here b4 with this. Check the FAQ.
There is a number of articles relating to body lift in all states and what you have to do to engineer them.

Yeah, I understand about the spring packs. One of my previous cars was a hilux minitruck. I removed leaves in the rear when I lowered it and one of them was the leaf that contained the wraps. It didn't move too much on daily street driving but I can just imagine how much it would move in an off road ...

Thanks for the advice guys. I have been out playing on the trails and stuff out the back of redbank plains. Learning a few new things on the way. I have been very surprised at what I have been able to drive through/over/around/down etc simply by picking the right line. My mates tell me my truck ...

My current std fronts are sagged to the point that they bend the opposite way compared to the day they were placed on my lux. I have the oppurtunity to pick up a pair of front springs to suit my hilux. They have never been used and they are probably only going to cost a couple of cartons. Any ...

Ah I hope that is not the problem as I am just about to go and pull the pump apart again. Craig *edit*: All fixed now. The new top cover seal was working fine as when I undid the cap bolts, (I HATE cap bolts!!), the fuel pressure released and out came some fuel. The problem was that I had the little ...

Hey 54. The leaking lux in question happens to mine. Fiik posted for me as I was unable to get to the internet. (Cheers, fiik) I have since purchased a new top cover gasket and proceeded to replace it today. Unfortunately I must have replaced the pump bits incorrectly or not sealed the pump properly ...

Ahh I was wrong. I retract my former statement regarding calling an engineer out to your house to blue plate it. I just spoke to QDOT mods and they said get yourself a modification application form, fill out exactly what you intend to do and make it out of. They will then send you back a yay or nay ...

Datracer Suspension lifts and lowers are self-certify (within limits.) Body lift in Queensland is 2" maximum, you need an approval certificate before you commence, then it must be inspected by Queensland Transport (nobody else!) Blocks must be metal - plastic is not allowed. Cheers, Scott So does ...

Man I am pretty sure in Brisbane you don't have to get lifts or lowers engineer approved, otherwise I would have had to get all my previous cars engineered. If you are going to get it engineered you can call one to come out to your house to get it done. There are plenty to phone. You do not need to ...

Yeah it has huge wheel arches and plenty of clearance. It also has side steps but they don't intrude right into the wheel arch. I may steer clear of the CIG locker for the moment as the datto has one and that is enough lockers in one family. Tonka: Why did you remove leaves from your setup? Is this ...

Excellent. Thanks for the info guys. Exactly what I wanted to hear. Area54: I hear ya man. Plenty of ricers out there on the tarmac who have all the gear and can't drive. I wasn't looking to be one of those guys in a 4wd. Just interested to know whether it's worth putting it in. There'll be plenty ...

Hi guys and girls I just aquired a 1983 dual cab hilux, 2.2 diesel model. Now I am a total newb when it comes to all things 4wd. I am only familiar with lowering and handling. Tuning out flex/bodyroll and dropping ride height. Most of my time has been spent playing with street/race car setups. I am ...
