Re: Lady's 4WD Challenge - 14 August

Well done to the 19 year old in an unlocked mostly standard Jeep.. Going up against those big rigs was daunting, but she drove like a champion!! There was a really good feel to the day, with all the ladies having a ball. The smiles on their faces after driving a hairy section (and lifting ...

Re: jk lift and gear ratio's

The TJ and JK are totally different with regards to tyre/lift.. I reckon you could run 35's on standard suspension with a little cutting.. Don't forget that JK's came with 33's (or near enough, on Rubi's) and TJ's came with 29's.. When they designed the JK the basically watched what people where ...

Re: patrol diffs

My TJ has High Pinion (a massive benefit for saving driveshaft damage and clearance) D44/D60 which are both way stronger than any Patrol diffs.. hmmm i wish i had spare coin layin arour for a 44/60 swap :bad-words: You can have the diffs (SOLID AXLE INDUSTRIES) if you buy this. http ...

Re: patrol diffs

Agreed, a D30 is not as strong as GU/GQ diffs... Depends what you want to do, and what size tyres you want to run. Jeeps do things a bit different than Patrols and cruisers, they're designed more for crawling than wheeling with speed. And a D30 with 33's - 35's work with no problems as long as you ...

Be good to get out on a run with other TJ's so you can see what works, and what doesn't..

I think you're starting with the wrong vehicle for your first hardcore 4WD. The RocstaJeep is way too much 4x4 for a beginner. Perhaps start with something simple like a Patrol. Sure, they're not that good offroad. And you're going to have to make a few lifestyle changes. Like, pulling a few front ...

I think Grand is better.Because more comfortable, more engines, more power and torque, more articulation. XJ Cherokee has either a 4.0L six and or a 2.5L T/Diesel (which is a POS) ZJ Grand Cherokee has only a 4.0L six (there were V8's in the US) So same power, same torque. Articulation is arguable ...
