Re: where do you get your GU 4.2 ST tuned /dyno
Yes I know Steve and have had one of my patrols tuned by him at his last place of employment. Have also been out to comps and camped with the same group. Steve is a top bloke and I was always very satisfied with the work he did as what I asked for he could give me exactly that. Some people like to ...

Re: Dust Ejectors
The systems on these machines have a one way valve to prevent exhaust going back in. The also like you said have a vortex style intake before the filter which will throw the heavier particles to the outside of the housing then sucked out by the ejector. If it was a scaled down setup of what I see ...

Re: Dust Ejectors
Only a question. But why a restriction? From what I have seen its just a pipe inserted into the muffler and the air passing over this orifice creates a vacuum. The concept works extremely well on a mine site where ther is just as much if not more dust than what a 4by will see. It doesnt remove all ...

Dust Ejectors
Just wondering if anyone has toyed with the idea of dust ejectors on a 4wd? The equipment I work on has this system on them where a pipe joins the intake (pre filter) and the exhaust (post turbo) and "ejects" the dust. This setup works incredibly well and without it these machines will easily clog a ...

Can confirm 175-4390 (328.4x171.2x236mm) Maintenance Free 1000 CCA 180 RC, by the specs this one is ever so slightly better. Also 115-2422 (same measurements except height is 240.3mm) Maintenance Free 1000CCA 170RC. The price I have through CAT parts store- 175-4390 $212.14 - 115-2422(9X-3404) $204 ...

Re: Reccomend a replacement main battery
Get onto hastings or westrac depends on where you are located. Any CAT dealer should be able to size your battery and supply you one with the right dimensions and output. They are cheap, sturdy and very reliable batteries and as its been said have a great warranty. If you give us a location we can ...

X2 on the CAT batteries rugged design with massive outputs. Id like to see a patrol rattle a battery like a D11 can and still perform. They are very well priced also.

Re: Out with the old in with the new.....
If your getting a chip get a chip that controls your injection timing and duration. There are a fair few chips which just control fuel rail pressure and this puts added strain on your fuel system pump, injectors, seals etc. The chips that control the injectors themselves leave the fuel pressure at ...

Its on the back of pump runs horizontally. They normally have a cap on them from factory. You will probably find one of the fuel lines will get in the way of it slightly. I think its the feed line that gets in the way.

Re: pyro temp hotter after fitting intercooler How, Why?
Seems high for an unloaded vehicle. My GQ running 14psi uninterccoled sits on about 250 cruising on the highway 5th gear at 100. My GU which is our tow vehicle is running 14psi with a little more fuel and with a 2T+ trailer behind it sits on about 350 cruising on the highway. It sounds like your ...

Re: pyro temp hotter after fitting intercooler How, Why?
When you intercool as your cooling the air and making it less dense you are reducing the pressure of the air so you either need wind more fuel out of it or push more boost. It could be your whole combo that isnt efficient enough, your pump maybe at its max and cannot produce enough fuel to make ...

there are variants in the navara they have one with an output around the 128kw mark then a high output option which goes to 140kw then in the top of the line you can get the 3.0 v6 turbo diesel with 170kw and 550 nm. some of the chips may offer some sort of warranty on the engine with the upgrade ...
