Stop mucking around with the metallurgy of the shaft and you will reduce the chance of wrecking it. Instead of softening it to drill and tap the end and then re-hardening it just grab a stainless M6 or M8 socket head countersink screw and TIG weld it directly to the end of the shaft. I did this on ...

I was happy to see so many teams win SS's this year and see the points so close. I would have to say that Trackabout had the swankiest out fits and the busiest door stickers I have seen.

If there was a team spirit award it should have gone to the Zukes of Hazard (how good is that name) for getting ...

Hi Mount Winch onto Discos

I put this in another thread but it hasn't been picked up so I thought I'd start a new one.

I heard it costs about $400 per pot to resleeve the things. Some engine places can "pin" the sleeves to stop them moving again once you have it right.

I have a 4.3 stroker that slipped one far enough to catch the top ring and pull the top out of the piston (see photos)

Hope this helps,
Andy

Mate, don't quote me on this but aren't those hoses from the absorption canister connected to the fuel bowl breathers? If you have fuel in the hose you may have a stuck needle and seat or some other form of flooding problem.

Can anyone explain why the drivers side only stop tail on my RR has a very short life expectancy? It usually only lasts a few days and when it blows it turns black and grey. Totally FUBAR.

All kitted out now with XJ12 engine mounts. Realistically XJ12 on the engine and XJ6 on the gearbox would probably do or XJ12 on the passenger’s side and XJ6 on the drivers would also probably do. They do look bullet proof.

Cheers,
Andy
