Well I have also contemplated making one and seeing how it goes, but in saying that i wouldn't go anywhere with that as my only recovery equipment. It probably wouldn't be the best to use on muddy/rocky trails, but i don't think you could beat it out on sand dunes where you need to do long winches ...

If you want to do it on the cheap, why not call around some wrecking yards and source one from a simmilar model and just run it higher and fed it into your 1st tank??? Let gravity feed from the aux into the other. Failing that, just weld up a box shape tank and use it as a aux tank and use gravity ...

Some good ideas out there i was going to plush mount them in the dash like Guts, but i found it too hard to have a quick look at them while driving, And the Dash pod like crozza wouldn't work in certain modles like a lux, because of the shape of the dash.
